Marc Jacobs made this sock-boot/legwarmer-boot look popular last season and Diba (from Bronx Shoes) has a very cute version all their own. These pretty ‘Hugs’ will do just that; hug your ankles in comfortable warmth while showing off your sassy side. These could be ghetto, but Diba has somehow managed to make them classically sophisticated while staying true to an internal soapy fabulousness. Visit the Bronx Shoes website to see their entire fall inventory, which is ON SALE NOW!! While you’re there, don’t forget to enter to win a trip to New York in Bronx’s Shoes & the City Contest. “Mr. Bronx is look for his princess.” Even if you don’t enter the contest, you should go to the contest web page; it’s super fun and cute!

So, what do you say? Yay or Nay to these funky peep-toe pumps from Red or Dead? The ‘Bonita’ court has a classic 1940s French feel to it and we’re feeling the ameba aura of the twisted t-strap that climbs from the quarter. It reminds shoedish a bit of a dance shoe, but we’re still not convinced. There’s just something going on here that we don’t like and it’s not the pink slithering under the shiny silver (or the blue under black). We like that too. Maybe it’s the vamp; too high on the foot? Or the heel; it’s always the heel? Thoughts? Opinions? Can you help shoedish make up her mind once and for all?

It seems like every time we get close to our dream of summer the cold winter knocks us off our wedges. I’m sitting here this morning bundled up in a blanket (A BLANKET!) wondering what the weatherman meant when he said, “Clear skies through the weekend!” Uh, on what planet does cloudy and rainy constitute “clear”? Ugh! I didn’t complain about the grey skies all week because I was satisfied with the assumption that I’d have a warm, clear, Barcelona weekend and now it’s ruined!! Cry me a river, right? I know, I know but I’m having one of those days where I just needed it to be sunny. Alas…I guess we’ll just have to make do and bundle up with these cute Keira-Dea boots from Sketchers Soho Lab. There are only a few small sizes left, so all you ‘tiny feet’ out there, get them while you can.

It’s a sandals extravaganza going on right now at Urban Outfitters and we’ve run into the same dilemma we had yesterday with Anthropologie. Shoedish has too many lovely choices; it’s like a gang bang of shoes!! We did manage to pick out our favorite of the bunch. These gladiator sandals from Dolce Vita fit every trend marker we have coming in 2008 and they’ve got a little something extra. They’re croc embossed and they have a tiny little kitten wedge heel for those who fear flats. Woohoo! Hooray for Dolce Vita using all the trendy elements available to them this spring. Available exclusively online at Urban Outfitters for $150.

Shoedish is yearning, burning, yearning for some retail therapy. We’ll take these with a side of summer kind sir. There’s nothing better than a pair of platform slingbacks and these ones from Alejandro Ingelmo are ringing our bell. If you’re going to do black you should do black like this. An updated version of the YSL Tribute, these pretty slingbacks have a nice little silver punch along the vamp. Additionally, the tiny cutouts give you a little toe cleavage that some people, like Tommy Lee, really enjoy. There’s nothing wrong with a foot fetish people; it can’t be any worse than being a shoeaholic. Satisfy both with these platforms. Available at Intermix Online for 675 bones.

“A muse for the transforming power of art.” That’s what a New York Times article called Barcelona and it’s true. There is some sort of still collaboration between the energy of foreigners and the easygoing nature of natives. The art plays out on the streets; spray-painted murals clog the tiny passageways like art in a hall. Unlike New York City, everyone dresses in color. Gaudy figures, patterns, and colors jump at you on the streets. Shoedish has found her match. People here could laugh at my self-proclaimed notion of being eclectic and unique. That’s okay, it gives me a chance to experiment. These strappy wedges from Carlos by Carlos Santana might get some looks in New York, but they’re merely a part of the backdrop in Barcelona.
