a note from shoedish

Hello my shoe pets, as you can see we’ve worked out most of the kinks in the new system, but you might also have noticed that there are still a few changes that need to be made.  Slowly but surely we’re working it all out and we so appreciate your patience while we navigate the brave new world of website operation.  Right now, we are still having issues with editing, adding hyperlinks, auto-navigation to The Shoe Dish homepage, and categorizing, so if you have any questions regarding where a shoe is from, please don’t hesitate to email me at shoedish@gmail.com so that I can point you in the right direction.  In the meantime, check out the Shoetopia page to find all of our favorite shoe designers and shoe shops and don’t forget to add The Shoe Dish to your friends list on Myspace.  xx’s and shoes, shoedish

Big things, big things! There is some big news today in the footwear industry, my shoe friends. The shoe world is all abuzz with VP changes and the return of one big kahuna. Nike’s creative director of sports performances was just named VP of footwear design following his 16 years of design experience and 12 years with Nike, while Bob McKnight returns to Quicksilver Inc., after Bernard Mariette resigned. McKnight is looking to move away from the winter sports equipment brand that Quicksilver acquired in 2005.

celebrity shoe star: keira knightley

And the celebrity shoe star from yesterday is? Drum roll please…Keira Knightley. Well done and thanks for playing, BTW…I practically gave this one away and of the 1,100 people who viewed this post yesterday not one person guessed. Bleh! Not even L or Pumpkin or Nadarine. Shoedish is sad…

Keira Knightley has so many shoes that she doesn’t get to wear them all. Keira says, “I look at them [shoes] and go ‘Oh, it doesn’t matter that I can’t wear them - they’re so pretty’”. Now that is a shoedish kind of girl!!

steve madden’s spring fashion push

I have been fighting this Steve Madden post for quite some time now, but like any good shoe lover, I am still on his mailing list. Yes, even Steve Madden gets to visit my inbox. I am a shoe whore, after all. Everyday, like clockwork, I am inundated with styles from his new collection. Restructured wedges are the latest in a long list of ho hum styles; “Peepme”, “Peep toe Perfect”, and “Low Wedge Sandals” all join the ranks in Steve Madden’s battle to “Take Spring Fashion to New Heights”. We’re not impressed. It all looks like a lot of cheaply-made copycats to us. We will say one positive thing, because we actually like these “Tumbled” wood-platform sandals and you can’t go wrong with the occasional free shipping initiative (okay, two things).
