We don’t care how ridiculous these might be, we love them anyway! In fact, shoedish is about two clicks away from purchasing them. Somebody stop me! These tasty delicious animal-print knee-high boots from Giuseppe Zanotti are pretty uptown…or skanky…depending on how you look at them. We’ll compromise and go with uptown skanky. What? You don’t think their are skanks living uptown? Err, have you watched Gossip Girls or Cashmere Mafia lately? Me either, but you get the point. Shoedish has gotten pretty skanky herself lately; if I didn’t now any better I’d think she’d started a love affair with GZ shoes; it’s been a little heavy lately.

More fashion show news is in and these uber platforms come straight off the blocks, literally, of the Alessandro Dell’aqua show. Don’t worry, these aren’t what we’d call ready-to-wear, but they do show clear signs of the strappy future; a strappy future that’s looking to secure its place in altitude heave. In other words, don’t look for platforms and gladiator straps (gladiator is defining anything strappy for today’s purposes) to go anywhere fast. Chop off 2…maybe 3 inches and we’re all over these babies. What can we say, we like being tall. I must say that I’m very impressed with the model who managed to strut down the runway wearing these. I always say that I can walk in anything, but these could be a challenge.

You know how shoedish loves her Marc Jacobs and the “Godfather of the Mary Jane’s” current collection doesn’t disappoint. Marc Jacobs has gone back to his classic roots and designed a yummy collection full of classic pumps, peep-toes, and - of course - that yummy mary jane that makes shoedish so undeniably giddy. These classic navy pumps are tweaked modern with a little shiny patent and the almond-toe screams 2008. Simple, chic, and classic with a deliciously modern twist. We’re also looking for MJ to break us off a piece of those purple peep-toes and while he’s add it, he may as well thrown in those double-strapped mary janes as well. We’ll be Marc Jacobing it down the streets of Soho in the rain.
