I don’t even like wellies that much, but I do understand how practical they are, especially for city living. If you walk to work you can’t really get by without a pair of light weight water proof rain boots. And what’s shoedish’s motto when it comes to practical footwear? If you have to own it, make it cute. Okay, so I just made that up right now, but it’s not a bad idea to live by. These rain boots from On Your Feet are just what the doctor ordered. Complete with a soft jersey knit cotton lining, these hand painted banana yellow wellies make for a comfortable little rain boot. 100% waterproof and as comfortable and pretty as a pearl in a clam. What more could you ask for from practical shoewear?

Giuseppe Zanotti is fast becoming one of my favorite shoe designers. They hit the nail on the shoe head almost every time. When I see a new pair of shoes from the new collection my eyes glaze, my mouth drops open, and I stumble through the shoe store while I drool uncontrollably. I’m shoe love drunk, which only adds to my shoe drug induced coma. Thankfully I can do my shoe shopping in the safety and comfort of my home. Shoedish should not be drinking and shoe shopping, especially when shoes like these red glazed platform sandals are on the menu. We love the hard core ankle buckles paired with the subtlety (or not) of the silver gladiator t-straps. These shoes are pulling you in all different directions - naughty, nice, naughty, nice - they’re the best of both worlds.

Last summer we wanted these shoes so badly that we could taste the cork in our mouth! These are an updated version - the wrap colors are a little different and they come in several different figures and colors - but we love them just the same…possibly more. How cute do they look next to a pool full of fresh blue water? They make me yearn for summer, sunbathing, and burying my toes into the sand of white sandy beaches! Even more so, they make me think of pedicures and brightly colored toes. These cork platform sandals from Miss Sixty will do their best to show off your pretty summer peds, but they’ll have you fantasizing so much of the water that you’ll never have them on your feet. That’s okay, the ankle ties make them very easy to carry.

We were always fans of the Converse All Star sneaker. It’s one of those shoes that looks so cool on other people, but shoedish was just never able to pull off. It’s a thing you know - just like my inability to wear pointy toe pumps - if you don’t believe you look cool than you don’t. These, however, seem to be calling our name. We spotted these Converse look-a-likes by Levi’s in a little boutique while exploring the city yesterday and just had to try them on. I was wearing black skinny jeans and they looked so cool. I almost bought them, but have a new trick to staying frugal - I double the euro in my head, even though it’s really only about 1.5 - and that makes it easy not to buy things. They’re on my list though. If I’m good I’ll make them a treat.

Yesterday, I was accused of being in the shoe mafia. Well, yeah, this is a website devoted to shoes, so I guess you could say that I’m in the shoe mafia. In fact, I’m the leader and a proud leader at that. And I won’t lighten up. Shoes are life! Scorah Pattullo is available at Brittique.
“People say she’s crazy,
she got diamonds on the soles of her shoes,
Well that’s one way to lose these
Walking blues,
Diamonds on the soles of her shoes…
She makes the sign of a teaspoon
He makes the sign of a wave,
The poor boy changes clothes
And puts on after-shave,
To compensate for his ordinary shoes.”
We’re just saying…

Shoedish is always psyched about finding a new pair of super duper cute and unique flats. We’d always prefer to wear heels, but even someone who “can walk in anything” needs a little break. My peds deserve the comfort - every once in a while - of a pair of flats. That being said, we don’t need to get too comfortable. Just because we’re wearing flats doesn’t mean we need to give up on cute. The selection of pretty flats at Anthropologie is almost intimidating. How in the world do they expect us to choose? It’s always great to have options, but this is overwhelming. We want them all! Here are our three favorites from the bunch: The Jester Flats are in the lead for #1 on account of their uniqueness, but the Purple Geraniums are running a close 2nd on account of their purpleness. As for the Satin Songstress flats? Who are we kidding they’re tied for #1 and #2 on account that they’re shoes.
