sick day = casual shoes

So shoedish is sick and we don’t mean some weak little cough that interrupts our sleep kind of sick, but a serious hacking, painful infection of the bronchial tract. This will be the third cold we’ve had in three months, which is definitely a record in the life of shoedish. Our flatmate, N, started the infection that has now spread through the entire household. The only good thing about this cold is that my other flatmate, LK, has it as well. Misery loves company. Ayer, LK and I decided to buy some drugs and a thermometer; LK doesn’t think she’s sick unless she has a fever. Since were studying Spanish we’re supposed to try and speak Spanish whenever we can, so we decided to try buying drugs and a thermometer en Espanol. We tend to speak Spanglish, heavy on the English.

The Spanish ramblings of shoedish (con cold) trying to buy a thermometer at the farmacia con Lotta.

LK: Tienes thermometer.
Pharmacy Tech: Que?
Shoedish: (trying to help): thermometro?
LK: (puts her hand to her hand): para una fiebre.
Pharmacy Tech: Ah, si si!
Shoedish: Tambien algo dolorida?
Pharmacy Tech: Enferma?
LK: Si, somos enfermas.

Success! Es tonto, but I’m working on it! In honor of my enfermo I’m posting these casual shoe/slippers. If there’s one day I’ll excuse the wearing of these, it’s on a day when you want to rip your throat out of your neck. These are the cheap Ugg from Old Friend, available at the Slipper Warehouse.
