Way to go J Lo. We’re impressed by the loveliness that is your shoes. We take back all the nasty things we said about you and bow down to your shoe greatness. Okay, well that was enough of that. We admit to loving the shoes, but bowing down to your greatness is pushing it a little too far. Last night I had a dream that my cork wedges (these old platforms I’ve had since I was 16 - yes I still own them) were decorated with pictures, magazine cut-outs, and stickers. The entire cork wedge had been used as a bulletin board! Weird, right? But, then I had a thought. That would actually be really neat. People should start personalizing their cork wedges, like glitter for tap shoes! In most cases The Seven Deadly Sins aren’t to be toyed with and as shoedish got set to write a full fledged commentary piece for a column, we realized that the Seven Deadly Sins - when referring to shoes - are a whole other shoe game. You see when it comes to shoes it’s virtually impossible to avoid the strict definition behind these sins. Let’s break it down according to the shoes above, shall we?

Excessive thoughts of desire? Check! Over-indulgence? Check! The sin of excess? Check. Failure to ulilize ones gifts? Hmmm…not if we buy them. Insatiable desire? Double check! Vanity? Check. Exuding a presence of anger? Only if we don’t buy them. Okay, so that’s Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Envy, and Pride. 5 out of 7. Forgive me father, for I have sinned.
