What’s green and shiny and cradled with a half-sling? Why it’s a half slingback round-toe d’orsay from Yves Saint Laurent. Every time I see a green shoe I am instantly attracted to it and every time I post a green shoe on the website I am forced to remind you all of how much shoedish loves green, but today I’m sooooo not going to remind you, because everyone knows how much shoedish loves the color green, so why bother repeating it over and over and over again, right? You get it. It’s out there. You know. Nuff said?
*Ignore the tag on these pretty green pumps. They ARE NOT from Miu Miu. Shoedish had a very long weekend and we’re aparently unable to file…

It’s shoedish’s favorite time of year…the change of the season. Ch ch ch changes! We’re at our wits end with the cool weather and we’re ready to pack up our boots and pull out our flip flops and pretty sandals. We’re so excited for pretty summer thongs, especially when the seasonal trends are blasting us with the color train, but we also like to stick to traditional leather looks like these pretty things from Mia. What’s better than a nude aesthetic? A nude aesthetic against a tan; it’s the best way, after all, to show off that soft cottony summer tan of yours. What’s even better is that these Mia thongs are only a small fraction of the look-a-likes just next door. The BCBG thongs are pushing $200. We like them both, but when it comes to summer sandals $50 is about as high as we can rationally manage.

Marc Jacobs is constantly reinventing and creating. What I wouldn’t give to be a brain cell on the wall inside that tremendously creative brain of this shoe master. He seems to always take the most wonderful idea and turn it into something altogether unique and beautiful.. There aren’t a whole lot of people out there who could convince me that orange was the color for me - I did black and orange enough in high school (on ye Bengals!) - but these have us convinced. From the quarter cutouts to the striped heel and the oversized buttons, this simple pump from Marc Jacobs is a shoe that shoedish will certainly get behind; a shoe that isn’t really all that simple.

Continuing our fashionable shoes for the contemporary women series are these too pretty for words satin layer pumps from Pedro Garcia. The gaudy (gaudy in a very good way) runway samples are from Bruno Frisoni and might be a little too much for work in a corporate office, but that doesn’t mean you can’t wear this trend. The samples on the right are a little more “daily wear” and as cute as buttons. Everyone wants the original, but these satin pumps from Pedro Garcia take what you want and make them what you need. You need satin layer pumps, right?

Shoedish’s good friend J (formerly known as Pumpkin) was in Barca for a visit. She arrived last Thursday after a little hiccup - she missed her connection in Paris - in her travel plans. It wasn’t her fault, but it’s just another reminder of how bad shoedish’s travel karma is. So bad, in fact, that it rubs off on anyone connected to us. Shoedish has never flown anywhere without having some kind of problem and now we’re convinced that our travel karma is cursing our friends. The last person who came to visit missed her flight home. Okay, so that was our fault, can’t blame karma for that one, but still…
In honor of J’s visit and because our good shoe karma trumps all the pain of bad travel karma we’re posting these pretty walking flats from Dolce Vita. These are the perfect travel shoe for March vacations in and around the Mediterranean. Perfect for lots of walking while you explore a new city, but chic enough to make you look like a well-put-together European.
