As the stilettos get higher and higher so do the platforms they stand on. Pretty soon we’ll be touching the stars and the moons just by donning a pair of sky-high stiletto platforms. Sounds sweet to me! These delectably delicious platform stilettos strutted their tall, light, and handsome selves down the runway at the Versace show and all the girls were a swoonin’. I think it’s time to invest in a fainting couch; we see a lot of heartbreaking breath-stealers in the upcoming season. These might be too much for your everyday. We’re not sure they’re work appropriate, but we’d be willing to bet you could find somewhere to wear them. If not, you can always quit your job. No one likes being told what to wear. These will debut from Versace in the Fall of 2008. Shoedish can hardly wait that long.

There is a difference between boho-chic and homeless, right? Maybe the problem here is that every time I was dropped as a child I landed on my feet. Shoe nazi? Yo creo que si! Can you really blame me? Did Sienna Miller forget to wear her shoes or was this on purpose? Everyone keeps telling me how wonderful Sienna Miller’s look is. What’s so special about methfaced dumpster diving? This isn’t vintage or unique or boutique or…and it’s definitely not sanitary. Hey, at least her hair looks nice, which is rare. We were looking through the Piperlime sandal collection today when we stumbled across these awesome casual thongs from Poetic License. Beautiful, right? Then we noticed that these were a part of Rachel Zoe’s picks. You all know Rachel Zoe, right? Stylist to the stars? Well, we think she’s to blame for the boho-turned-dumpster-diving trend on young celebrities. Maybe that’s too harsh, but if she started recommending these to her hot celebrity clients we might see a blessed turnaround in the onslaught of the barefoot. This is pretty close to barefoot…but prettier.

Last night shoedish went salsa dancing. Well, what actually happened was that shoedish went to salsa club and watched people salsa dancing, but that’s neither here nor their. The point is that we’ve now decided that salsa dancing in the next thing on our list of things we must do. It’s the greatest thing I’ve ever seen!! But, you know what salsa dancing classes really means for shoedish, don’t you? New shoes! We couldn’t very well go to a salsa dancing class without really sexy footwear, right? So, what is salsa dancing footwear? Something a little like this? Come salsa with shoedish while we find out.
The direct origins of salsa dancing are vague or rather “undefined” but at its base it is a fusion of Latin American, North American, and Caribbean dance styles. It originated in Cuba through a mixture of Mambo, Danzón, Guaguancó, Cuban Son, and others and also has a strong Afro-Caribbean influence. It’s spicy, sensual, flirty, and sexy…just like salsa (the dip).

Here is a typical ladies salsa dancing shoe. Very pretty, very sexy, very glittery! These are from an actual dancewear site, Exotic Salsa Shoes, so they have all the bells and whistles for all you salsa dancing aficionados out there.

…but shoedish doesn’t need a “real” salsa shoe. We just need something really cute - makes us look like we might know what we’re doing - that we’d wear to go salsa dancing and everything else we do as well. We’re thinking these fit the bill. Maybe it’s stereotypical and cliche, but red screams SALSA to us. These strappy sandals are from Stuart Weitzman and look like they could keep your feet buckled in as you float about the dance floor. You’ll have to be come a professional dancer to afford them, though, at $299 someone has to “foot” the bill.

And these sexy stilettos from Jimmy Choo would look extra hot once we learn that uber cool dip move. We wouldn’t imagine that these are traditional salsa shoes, but with a heel like that, we think they qualify. You’d just have to get those feet in the air to show off that heel. Ole!

And the celebrity shoe star is….new mom, Jennifer Lopez! I think that these shoes only prove our point to the shoeth degree. Shoedish was never a huge fan of Jenny from the Block, but even we’re impressed by a woman who can pull this off when she’s nine month pregnant. Wow! Talk about killing it before and after! All this talk about Christina Aguilera and Nicole Richie bouncing back, can someone please give Mrs. Anthony a shout out!?!!!
“I have so many shoes because I don’t throw any of them out. I still have shoes from 10 years ago! I have perspective. I didn’t grow up in a glass palace, so I have the sensibility of two different worlds that I’m able to bring to everything that I do. I love that. I love where I came from. And, in a way, I almost hate that my kids are going to come from something else, that they’re not going to have the upbringing that I had. I love that I had a normal upbringing because you get a certain kind of common sense and street sensibility. You appreciate things. I think it’s really priceless.”
Sorry, but we don’t feel sorry for your kids. At least they’ll have some really great shoes!

You’ve all been waiting so patiently! Shoedish is mock-petting your pretty little heads right now. We posted these pretty, runway chic, eccentric woven-flame heels from Pierre Hardy and made you wait a whole 5 days for the ready-to-wear version. Hey, at least we’ve been spoon-feeding you with other lovely runway to street wear shoes all week, right? Well, these Pierre Hardy’s aren’t as easily translated into ready-to-wear - a foot on fire is hard to copy - but alas there is a more subtle look for the everyday. Stella McCartney’s woven detail peep-toes are still a bit loud, but with a chic blue pant suit they add a dash of color and sprinkle of sass. Wear them with wide-legged pants and you’ll give just a little of that subtle, less-is-more, peekaboo look. Fabulous? Fabulous.

Shoedish just realized that she missed her favorite shoe holiday. Monday was St. Patrick’s Day and we didn’t post any green shoes…our favorite!!! Shoedish is pouting in her green envy right now. Damnit!!! I guess they don’t really celebrate St. P’s Day over here in Espana. Lord knows they celebrate every other saint in the book (that’s not a jab at the gente; I don’t even know the true origin of St. Patrick’s Day). Anyway, if there’s anything that can cure shoedish’s misstepping blues it’s new shoes. Haha! What did you think? Alas, we found something that is almost as good. These pretty bangles from Jessica Kagan Cushman’s new collection say it all. Every true shoe lover needs these. We know we’ll be purchasing them! They may not quell your need for actual shoes, but they’ll certainly dull the pain for a little while. I wonder if she’d make some special edition bracelets for The Shoe Dish. I’m seeing a wrist-full future filled with “Shoegasm” “Shoe Love is True Love” and “Shoetopia”. You know, just a few of shoedish’s shoeisms.
