I was in the shoe store yesterday when I stumbled across these gorgeous platform slingback shoes from Pedro Garcia. We had a moment…and then…shoedish walked away. I went to lunch with my friends, bought groceries at the store, and did my Spanish homework, but no matter what I did and how hard I tried I could not get those shoes out of my head. I imagine they felt the same way, sitting in that lonely shop window wondering why I’d forsaken them. Didn’t they deserve to be loved? Didn’t they deserve a loving home to be a part of? Didn’t they deserve to share a shelf with other brothers and sisters? Didn’t they? The guilt was almost unbearable. So, I marched my way back down to that store and…they were gone. GONE!! I guess someone else had the same idea. Lucky for me they’re available online. Thank goodness for the internet!

April showers bring May flowers! Shoedish is dreaming in color this spring. When do we not dream in color? How will your garden grow this spring? Shoedish has the answer. Colors, textures, and prints in bright colors are all the rage this season and these shoes from Guess are just the beginning. Oh no, shoedish’s WANT IT list is just growing and growing! What, oh what will we do? This problem is easily solved with a new shoe rack. We’ll worry about how to get them home come August; nothing a new suitcase couldn’t handle. These stacked stiletto platforms from Guess come in all the girlie colors your heart ca handle, while the peep-toe mary janes are equally delectable in white with gold and black with multi-colored prints.

It’s time for another ‘opinions please’ friday brought to you by The Shoe Dish. These black dress sandals from Carlos Santana are interesting. Upon first glance we liked them, as much as we can like a black shoe, but now we’re wavering on our initial reaction. Texture? Placement of the vamp strap? Or is it that they just look cheap? We’re not sure? Thoughts? Opinions? We love finding an affordable pair of shoes, but they shouldn’t look affordable. At first, we thought they’d make a great option for L’s Bridesmaid Shoe Search, but we’re no longer convinced. Maybe if we tried them on we’d feel differently? The right outfit? The right pedicure? Why are we trying so hard to find a reason to like them? There’s got to be something there.

Here’s another Fall 2008 Preview straight from the runways of fashion week(s). These gorgeous heelless booties gave shoedish a shoegasm. What’s new? With strategically placed cutouts, these boots are redefining what’s sexy. Who wants to see bood cleavage when you can get a little quarter peekaboo and heel cleavage (just make sure your feet have been recently pedicured, no one wants to see dry heel flakes)? Hmmm…maybe it is just a shoe fetish thing. Regardless, these shoe booties are deliciously sexy in animal, reptile, and black color-blocking. You can never go wrong with a red soled shoe. These pretty booties will be available in the fall from Jonathan Saunders.

Delias has taken color-blocking to a whole new level with these colorful 70s-inspired platforms. Talk about Saturday Night Fever! The 70s have met the millennium and spawned a fantastically gaudy shoe that shoedish sooooo wants to wear. Orange, yellow, and blue met for a threesome and yellow gave birth to a color-blocked love child. Is it possible to be ostentatiously tasteful? Well, if it wasn’t before, it is now. Stayin’ alive, staying alive! These t-strap platforms from Delias are loud, too much, and wild but at this price point it’s okay to give them a whirl.

Nine West Prom

These dress sandals from Nine West would be promxtraordinary…with the right dress. And no you don’t need to have a perfectly matched fuchsia dress to wear these shoes with. Gone are the days of dying shoes to match your dress (at least we hope). Try something bold and do two different colors. We’re not promoting ultra gaudy concoctions here. For example, these would not pair well with a bright red dress. However - I will proceed with caution in this next statement - it could be possible to wear them with green. Calm down. It would have to be the RIGHT green. In other words, you’d know it when you see it. These would also pair nicely with some shades of yellow and various other spring hues. Come on now, spring is the season for color, but if you want to play it semi-safe, pair them with simple black gown instead.
