It’s time for another celebrity shoe star. Before we rant and rave about the unknown somebody for this week, we have to take a moment to mention that we were very disappointed with Hayden Panettiere’s choice of shoes while in Berlin promoting her new film Fireflies in the Garden. We’ve seen them a couple of times now, including a slam dunk at the MTV Movie Awards, but this time those Louis Vuitton clear strap and gold wedges took a misstep with the help of a misguided hero. Let’s rewind Hayden. Since you were once a hero of shoes, we’ll let it slide this once. Even pretty little cheerleaders can make a minor slip - an insignificant mistake in a world of shoe do’s - but she better not let it happen again. And after that, here we are with out newest Shoe A-Lister. A hint: She seems to be the celebrity muse for Christian Dior and we’re soooo jealous of the pretty pair she currently owns from his Fall 2008 collection. I think we got you this time Can!!!

Shoedish did something crazy! Let me preface by explaining that about 5 months ago, shoedish went to an incredibly light shade of brown (we’re naturally a very dark brunette). Our last “touch up” was just before we left the great Nueve York and so you can image how desperate our new dark roots are to fit in with the rest of our hairs. The poor guys, they look like Carrie Bradshaw during that strange dark-roots-light-hair-this-is-supposed-to-be-trendy stage of Sex and the City. Wait, was that all the seasons of Sex and the City? We never really got that, by the way. And this is where the “shoedish did something crazy” comes into play. We had our hair done in Spain! Eeeeek, right? Are you shaking in your stilettos yet? Well, we were too, which is why we politely asked to go to a warm chocolate brown (you can’t mess that up, right?) Right! But, of course, the story couldn’t possibly end there. Our new hairdresser, a tall toe-head Dutch expat insisted that I keep the bronde tone. “It’s gorgeous against your skin and it’s good for summer.” He insisted and we are easily swayed. Fine! If it looks like poo, we can always go darker later.
But alas…it’s perfecto! A little blonder than our original bronde, but we can still proudly call ourselves a brunette - a dirty bronde brunette - but a brunette none-the-less, with a healthy trim and absolutely no split ends! In celebration, we’re posting these pretty brondes-have-more-fun platform stilettos from Burberry because they scream SEX! They’re rock star chic and right now that’s exactly how we feel.

If you’re thinking that ONLY Heidi Klum can pull off yellow, you’re wrong! Yellow is the color of the season and a little banana splash here and there never hurt anyone. They have lots of potassium, after all, which is great for the cramps caused by 5-inch heels.

Shoedish has to take a break from her shoes for just a short (temporary) moment to mention how much she hates it when people don’t wipe the kitchen counters down after they’ve washed the dishes. Sorry ya’ll, but the kitchen just ain’t clean unless you wipe down the counters. It’s not a book shelf; one dusting per week just won’t suffice. It must be cleaned every single time it is used, right? You are eating off the thing for crying out loud. This is one of shoedish’s number one pet peeves - that and girls who try to walk in heels when they clearly cannot - and I think it’s reasonable enough. If you wash the dishes, take two extra minutes to wipe the counters down as well. “I just hate washing dishes” is not a legitimate excuse. That’s like saying you hate being sick. No one likes to wash dishes, so suck it up. And on that note, here’s a pretty casual shoe from Dolce & Gabbana. We haven’t posted a flat in quite sometime, but these green woven babies made us happy; much, much better after our rant. We’ll internalize this peeve with the help of these.

Talk about a serious designer copycat. Is it just me or do these platforms from BCBG look alarmingly similar to the YSL Tribute platform made famous last season? That was a rhetorical question, of course. This pretty peep-toe platform from BCBG is a chip off the old block if we ever saw one. We’re always happy to find a designer shoe for a fraction of the price, especially if said copycat is a well-made shoe like BCBG. Oh, did we mention that we are also hypocrites, who suffer from severe bouts of indecision. Well, that’s neither here nor there. Some copycats are made to be forgiven.
