Shoedish burned the shiitake out of her skin this weekend and we’re still feeling the fever of it. We were able to venture out of the house again yesterday, more responsibly dressed in a long sleeve shirt and hat, to relax on the beach. You’d think by the age of 25 we’d have learned the important lesson and the dangers of irresponsible sunbathing. Well at least our feet only caught the tail end of that burn and are sweetly bronzed with a golden tan, which is nice, except for the dreaded flip flip line that parallels our toes. At least I can tell how far I’ve come. I wouldn’t normally promote strapless sandals for the everyday, but they might come in handy getting rid of those funky tan lines striping our peds. They’re worth a try.

You know how some girls are sexy and some girls are cute? Well, we wouldn’t call these the sexiest shoes of the season, but they are pretty darn cute. Gold is always a funky color to deal with - it teeters on the edge of cheap - but when it’s done right it can work wonders for an outfit. These pretty criss-cross dolly pumps from Seychelles somehow pull off that gold metallic look without looking cheap. We think it’s the school girl sweetness of the shape that keeps it from souring in our mouths. It also kind of reminds us of a dance shoe and you know how shoedish loves to dance. We’re going to get down with our “good girl” selves and dance the night away in these cute girl gold pumps from Seychelles.

Now this, my shoe friends, is some serious shoe love. We’ve seen keychains, art, wedding cakes, sculptures, and even chairs made out of shoes, but a vehicle? Can we please have one? How many red soled shoes do you have to sell to qualify for this? The Shoe Dish and Shoedish’s birthday’s are coming up next month and so we were thinking that it might be a nice little surprise to have our very own custom-made stilettomobile - in green - for the shoetastic birthday!!! And the Celebrity Shoe Star is…Miley Cyrus of “Hannah Montana” fame. She’s taking over the world and wearing pretty shoes all the way to the top. Poor Miley Cyrus. I actually feel sorry for the kid. She seems to be catching quite a bit of slack for all this “naked truth” business. Need people be reminded that she’s 15! A 15-year old trying to look sexy isn’t anything new. When I was 15, all I wanted to do was wear mini-skirts to church to see if I could get a rise out of the congregation, but it was harmless. Oh Hollywood, you can be so fickle. For our purposes, Ms. Miley Cyrus is an A+ shoe queen. You go girl! We’ll be watching the shoes and praying you don’t follow in Brit Brats shoes…literally, Britney’s shoes are hideous!!
