It’s the attack of the truly expensive flip flops! Yes, once again, it’s that time of year, where we review all the fanciest in rubber footwear. Many fashionistas will have you believe that flip flops are “sooooo not okay.” Well, even shoedish - and you know how shoedish loves her heels - is a fan of the flippity flop. We like to purchase cheapies, like Old Navy, in a crop of colors, but for the true summer flip flop fan, there are some uber chic choices for you as well. Havaianas are arguably the best in rubber footwear and it shows on that very real bottom line, but these babies are relatively inexpensive when you consider the alternative; designer flip flops!

A lot of people believe that this is strictly a runway look, but shoedish begs to differ. When I was waiting tables in college, one of the girls who worked behind the bar used to wear ankle socks with her Doc Martin mary janes and she pulled it off. It’s really in how you carry yourself, what kind of shoes you wear, and well, if you really care what everyone else thinks. Leighton Meester, from Gossip Girl, named ankles socks as her number 1 item on her “Hot List” in the March issue of Allure. Meester said, “Anna Sui socks. Ankle socks paired with heels are sweet and unexpected!” We’ll say! You don’t have to go runway wild like Marc Jacobs. Instead, pair yours with some simple mary janes or classic pumps. If your comfortable, however, just go for it!

So, shoedish finally had a chance to watch The Hills on MTV Overdrive. This is the only US station that we can watch online in Spain. The others, like the CW, Fox, and ABC send us this uber snotty notice about how we have to be living in the US to access the site. Puke! Anyway, yay for MTV! So, last night we watched “Paris Changes Everything” and while we’re bothered by the awkward trying-to-kiss-you scenes between Mathias and lauren and the vespa riding in the pouring rain, we were most bothered by Heidi’s bobble head and grossly large lips. Did anyone else notice that? I had heard she’d gotten her lips done, but served up on head that just seemed outrageously too large for her body was too much!! Thoughts?

It’s finally here! It’s April and it’s officially spring! And while April may be the prelude to all that sunny May has to offer, it’s also (for most) a sopping wet mess of renewal and rebirth. April showers may bring May flowers, but it also brings RAIN!!!! So, what’s a shoe fiend to do? No worries, April showers also mean cute wellies in a lunchbox of colors and flavors. These pretty rain boots from Target are only $19.99 and they have a little wedge heel to keep us flat-shoe-challenged girls happy.
