Shoedish has a new favorite shoe for summer. The best part about these pretty peep-toe platforms from Type Z is that you can wear them straight into fall and winter. Just pair these pretty dolly open-toe platforms with some opaque tights and you’re good to go. When rationalizing a new shoe buy, versatility is key. These platforms from Type Z will soon be donning the feet of your favorite shoe guru. We don’t need Ego or Id to help make up our mind on this one, though I will note that they both gave their thumbs up.

One of shoedish’s favorite people and good friend ‘Kaka’ (formerly know as Pumpkin Cheeks) is obsessed with everything Stella McCartney. From bags and clothes to perfume and shoes, she’s one of the animal-friendly designers biggest supporters. Shoedish loves Charles David, yellow shoes, and peep-toe slingbacks. Here’s the dilemma: Charles David is one of those brands that teeters on the line between a logical buy and a far too expensive buy. In other words, our heart is willing to spend the money, while our head tells us that we can’t afford it. This is when the voices start - a heated conversation between Ego and Id - and Id is a sneaky bastard. Id knows how to play it, even avoiding comparisons like banana-yellow, because shoedish hates bananas…but then Ego mentions it, because he’s pretty clever himself, that Ego. It’s a battle of wills and Id has the upper hand because shoedish really loves to buy new shoes, but we see Ego’s point. So, who will win out in the end? Will it be that manipulative me-me Id or the logical and rational Ego? Stay tuned…

A Biondo Castana platform wedge that shoedish might actually be able to afford? This might be our lucky day, which is exactly what we’ve been needing, because it’s been a very crappy week. It started out great. On Monday, shoedish had her first successful off-the-cuff Spanish moment, when we gave directions (in Spanish) to a native Barcelonian. I’m such a civilian!! Well, the excitement of that day was quickly replaced by pain, and the discomfort that continues today. Headaches, stomach pain, and cold sweats; it’s like I’m fasting all over again. Do you feel sorry for shoedish? Well, there’s only one way to solve this problem and shoedish’s drug of choice is, of course, SHOES!!!! bet you couldn’t have guessed that one.
