It’s Tuesday and you know what that means? It’s time for yet another Terrible Tuesday post and these clunky boots from Rundholz fit the disastrous shoe bill to a frightening T. Thoughts? We stumbled upon these flat booties while scouring the pages of Hats and Haberdashery and were met by a laugh from within. Neil Armstrong returned to space and forgot to take his shoes with him. Aren’t shoes supposed to make you feel light (and pretty) on your feet? Maybe it’s just us, but these cloggy clumps wouldn’t do either. We’re pretty sure that once you’ve got them on, they’ll only serve to keep you standing in place like cement on your feet…but that’s just us. Thoughts? Opinions?

This week’s Celebrity Shoe Star is Nicole Richie! Now can you see why our pictures were difficult to show…we were trying to hide that famous foot tattoo of hers while still showing shoes that reveal the foot. Ho hum! Congrats to AllyE for the answer! New mom Nicole Richie - who successfully wore platfroms through her entire pregnancy - is a shoe fashion diva, rarely having been caught by shoedish having a bad shoe day (just that one time without them). When you’re the face of a shoe designer like Jimmy Choo, you’ve got quite a shoe burden to carry. Nicole wears hers with pride! What a wonderful shoe life she must lead. A girl can dream!

More fur! Just when you thought you were getting settled into summer footwear, shoedish hits you with a bunch of fall and winter trends. Sorry, but we have to be one step ahead - you know how fast those trends move - and were sure that fur is in for Fall 2008. But fur isn’t just sitting in the background this fall. Fur is a novelty material that makes a bold statement. Remember your grandma’s fur shawl? Well, throw it onto a booty and you’ll have a bold look like that on the Michael Kors runway. Pulled from the pages of fashions history, fur makes a very rich and sophisticated statement. We’re loving these fur-cuffed booties from Tashkent by Cheyenne. They’re spunky, but not as bourgeois as those Orylag booties from Gigi Favela.

Hola my shoe fiends,
We’re happy to introduce The Shoe Dish readers to a designer we’ve just come to know and love. Gaspard Yurkievich is a Paris-based designer with tres tres belles chaussures or is it chaussures tres tres belles (apologies for the disastrous try at French). It was hard for shoedish to pick a favorite but we’re going to go with these for today because we’re having a fetish moment that concerns an exclusive desire for vamp-embellishments. You know how it is…this too shall pass. We’re loving the sway heel of this collection paired with the modern sleekness. These could be a dangerous addition to The Shoe Dish brood; my loves tend to get a little jealous of a pretty new face. Slingback and ankle strap, almond toe and lavender…what negative thing could you find to say about these lovely Parisian soles? Check out the entire shoe collection at gaspardyurkievich.com or their boutique at 38 rue Charlot in Paris. We’ll see you there!
xx’s and shoes, shoedish

If you’re too shy to wear hot pink on your shoes, then you can opt for a little flush of pink on your toes. Hot pink is always a summer favorite because it looks great against cottony bronzed summer skin. Nubar is shoedish’s new favorite nail polish! This lovely paint is free of Formaldehyde, (DBP) Phthalate, and Toulene Free so your toes can enjoy a much healthier nail polish. Pale pink is back for Spring 2008 - you know that bubble gum pink from the 80s - and we’re loving Lippmann’s Collection, Don’t Call Me Baby. This is the kind of pink that absolutely pops against tan skin. But, enough with all the pink’s! Blue is back and it’s not just for teenagers, even The New York Times is calling it the ‘It’ shade for 2008 and we’re loving Essie’s Nail Polish in Aruba Blue.

We’ve fallen in love with this bed wedge kitten heel from Glory Chen. All the color we love with some fun figured piping to top it off. Joy Chen, the designer behind Glory Chen shoes studied at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and her creativity and knowledge of art, design, and architecture come through in the distinctive styling of her fabulous shoes. Shoedish is slowly forming her very own collection of Glory Chen shoes and think you should too. Check out Olive Shoes to see more Glory Chen and other great European designers. Olive features top designers like Repetto, Tashkent by Cheyenne, Rundholz, Chi Mihara, Twenty Two Shoes, Jean-Michel Cazabat, Polini, Matta, Chie Mihara, Cydwoq, Eileen Shields, Georgina Goodman, Glory Chen, Ananas, Coclico, Eileen Shields, Foot Petals, Polini.
