And the Celebrity Shoe Star for this week is the showgirl extraordinaire herself, Kylie Minogue. It was only right that Kylie be our shoe star this week as she steps into the limelight yet again as she gears up for her new tour, KYLIEX2008. With a career that began in the 80s, Kylie has been in showbiz for 20 years. That’s an impressive lot, especially considering that she’s still a big hit. This songstress has battled cancer and the media all in a pair of silver thigh-high boots. From her tour costumes to her everyday getups, Kylie Minogue is a fire storm of great fashion and we’re loving every bit of her choices.

The new face of Balenciaga herself, Jennifer Connelly, rocked out in head-to-toe Balenciaga for a recent press outing on her upcoming film, but we like what Nicole Richie does with these gladiator shoe booties from the couture designers spring collection. If only we could wear a $1000 shoe with our everyday jeans and t-shirt. Can you hear that? No matter, it’s just our jealousy radiating across the ocean. The celebreality mini mom, Nicole Richie, rocked these woven heels like the shoe all star that she is. We can’t hate the playa, we just hate the game. A word to all you Balenciaga PR reps out there - we don’t mean to sound pushy or demanding - can shoedish please be put on your short list for these designer samples?

The loafer is back. After a few years in the making, there is now a solid trend following the revival of the loafer and shoedish couldn’t be more thrilled with the remix. We were recently asked by a reader to help them find the coveted YSL ‘Jeanne’ loafer from a few seasons past and the search didn’t go so well, but we’re happy to report that there will be more where those pretty pets came from. Look for loafers to be jumping into your Fall and Winter wardrobes. This is no standard school master pump, but a splendid remix of the classic. 2008 will see loafers with trendy color blocking, sky-high platforms, and covered in the years boldest colors. This grey tasseled-vamp platform loafer from L.A.M.B. is a little bit more standard than some of what you’ll be seeing, but we like the hidden platform and the tassels add just enough feminine playfulness for a Parisian flavored femme flirt. Now that is a loafer that shoedish will stand proudly in.

Agatha Ruiz de la Prada is like a burst of sunshine for your feet and now she’s putting her colorful touch all over your kids favorite summer shoes. These fruity, flowery, summer fresh shoe designs are chock full o’ all your favorite kid-friendly embellishments and that burst of color we’ve come to expect from ARP, like heart, suns, and ladybug cutouts to name just a few.
