OMG! Shodish was actually having a hard time finding an ugly pair of shoes to post for today. I was about to give up when I stumbled upon these ugly green feather monsters from Shannon Britt, the normally classic and simple designer of bridal footwear. Wowsers! These shoes take the Terrible Tuesday cake and that’s a very special title to have in the world of shoes. Green velvet and ostrich feathers all topped off with a shiny and pointy toe cap. This is gaudy gone bad. This is gaudy to the gautastic limit. Jeepers creepers, where’d you get them peepers? …if you like these shoes, you can get them at Shannon Britt’s online boutique for $449.

And the celebrity shoe star is? Regis Philbin sidekick and ex-soap star Kelly Ripa. This shoe star has a splendiferous collection of pretty shoes and you can see them everyday as she sits on her bar stool perch on Live. This is how we first discovered Kelly’s spectacularly (has anyone else noticed my overuse of this word yet?) awesome taste in shoes. This gal is a pal to the stiletto, has received the blessing of toe cleavage expert, Tommy Lee, and was famously quoted saying that “shoes are like pizza, there is no bad shoe!” Amen to that! You guys have been doing pretty good these past few weeks; Shoedish thinks she may have to make it a little bit more difficult; lighten the clues a bit…

We’re going to forgive Miu Miu the fact that they have Kiki Dunst fronting their campaign and instead give them props for the ability to get Madonna in their shoes. We’re thinking that Mother Madge more than erases the fact that another young celebutarded addict has snagged yet another of those beloved and much coveted ad campaigns. Blah, blah…rewind, rinse, repeat. It really is a dirty game - dog eat dog - over there in crazy Hollywoodland. Celebrity models aside - who needs them anyway - these absolutely gorgeous shoes speak for themselves. This is a Miu Miu carnival fairytale, a little Alice in Wonderland meets the Fun House. These multiple-cutout stilettos are strangely creepy, just like that Jack’s Horror House feeling you get on the lazy outskirts of a small town carnival, but shoedish wants a front row seat to this shoes ferris wheel of death anyway.

Armand Basi is a designer that had been foreign to shoedish until we stumbled upon their boutique while exploring our new home away from home here in Barcelona and it was quite a happy discovery. How did we not know about the shoe heaven that is Armand Basi One?? An important design family in Catalonia since the 40s Armand Basi went international in 1986 and has been wowing the fashion world with all the spectacular colors that embody this artastic city. In 2006, under the design direction of Markus Lupfer, Armand Basi One debuted at London Fashion Week - Lupfer had been showing a collection under his own name in previous years - but the lastest collection is the on we’re ready to follow. You know how much shoedish loves color, but color and crazy embellishments? It’s almost too much for this shoe heart to handle and these platform raffia heel-love sandals are just about ready to make our hearts stop.
