Shoedish loves vintage phones! We wish that it was still the norm to have land lines so that we could justify the use of a vintage phone; it’s so Sex and the City. Another phone we’d have to own, merely on principle, is a shoe phone. Though the selection of shoe phones out there is rather slim - largely reflecting some 80s version of the pump - we still think it would be necessary to have a shoe phone somewhere in our home. We couldn’t very well call ourselves the stiletto nazi without a shoe phone, right? Hmmm…I guess if we can’t wear it, and we don’t have a land line to use it, it kind of is a waste. if the shoe fits, wear it. If not, then what?

Alright ya’ll, Bakers is officially the new queen of the knockoffs. And we thought Steve Madden was bad. These YSL Tribute knockoffs are nearly identical in style, save for the slingback, but a mere fraction of the price. The YSL’s originally sold for $675, while these copycats are $89. Not bad for a knockoff, we must say, it’s no YSL, but it’s pretty darn cute all its own.

Here’s a pretty and cheap jeweled slipper for your peeps. These Cinderella flats are complete with an oversized jewel brooch on the vamp and a metallic silver body. Shoedish loves playing up a simple flat. If you can’t have a heel, you might as well have something else going on down there. These shoes will get you noticed, even if it’s not for your height. The best part, though, is that they’re super cheap; just another reason we love Francesca’s Collection. These metallic princess ballerina flats are only $16 (down from $32). Go, run, buy them NOW!!!

Hey, shoedish owns these shoes from Nina! They’re of last seasons selection and only standard black, but they’re basically the exact same shoe with a mirrored heel. We bought them at that super duper crazy sale at Filene’s Basement we told you about, where we bought 5 pairs of shoes for like $30. Our friend, L, has these shoes too. This is Nina taking a classic style - the slingback pump - and making it work in the current trend. Add a little of that color bleed spice and you’ve got a whole new shoe. Now this is a color bleed color that works. Shoedish doesn’t like when a rich color bleeds to a muted white, but here’s a rich color that bleeds into an even richer color. These pumps are conjuring up the Mediterranean and shoedish loves the Mediterranean.

“I stumbled across your post on Proenza Schouler the other day, while I was searching for a knockoff version of the Alaias sandal from the Summer 2007 line. It’s a strappy sandal on a wood platform? I know that Summer 2007 was a few seasons ago, but I really need these shoes or a knockoff version of them. Do brands only knockoff the big ‘It’ shoes? I don’t think these were incredibly popular, then again I’m not really that knowledgeable about fashion. Thanks!”
Hmmm…well my shoe friend, you are in luck, because it just so happens that the Alaias was and is a popular little shoe. Summer 2007 basically means it will be swinging for the general public just about now and you’ll be pleased to know that a replica of this shoes was done by Jeffrey Campbell - there’s a new name in copycat - and is available at Nordstroms for $89.95.

First it was shade shifting, then it was color blocking, and now my dear shoe friends it’s all about bleeding hues in your shoes. Shoedish was in Portugal last week when we found a pair of hue bled round-toe wedges that we loved. Well, we loved the idea of the color bleed and the shape of the wedge, but we just couldn’t get past the color. It was a bizarre shade of blue that bled into an almost white, sort of powder blue; it basically reminded us of clinic shoes. Color is a very important part of a shoe, you know, and the color bleed trend can easily be done wrong. These creamsicle peep-toe extreme cutout platforms from Chinese Laundry do it right. This color bleed is like fire and ice or fire and white hot coals. What’s great about this funky lace-up is that it’s a great shoe even without the color bleed, so the color bleed just sends it right over the edge of trendworthy style. Order online today and get all your shipping for the low flat rate of $5.
