In fact, we can’t wait for fall footwear, especially with all the strappy goodness, cutout booties, and platforms that are promising us a very happy shoe season ahead. These slouchy suede boots from Brian Atwood are the couture jack-of-all-trades; a boot that can fit into virtually every outfit you pull from your closet, from skirts and skinny jeans to mini dresses and dress shorts. Gotta love versatility! A hidden platform and gathered back snap heel make these stiletto ankle boots the perfect addition to your fall footwear collection. These boots are on shoedish WANT IT list, though $995 price tage makes them merely a fantasy in shoedish dreamland. Well, we’ll ogle and eye pet them none-the-less.

salvatore ferragamo is a men’s footwear favorite

Originally uploaded by shoedish

“Wealthy male customers look for maximum prestige, functionality and value, and Ferragamo delivered in 2008,” said Milton Pedraza, CEO of the Luxury Institute after the Salvatore Ferragamo Men’s Line was rated the most prestigious luxury brand by high-net-worth males by the 2008 Luxury Brand Status Index. In the statement, he also made reference to the fact that Italy dominates in the luxury brand shoe department. If shoedish’s net worth was pushing $3.6 million ($350,000 annually) we wonder what shoe brands we’d pick for number 1? Actually, we know…but we’ll have to wait a couple years to see if we ever reach that luxury brand shoe goal of ours.

‘opinions please’ friday: color bleeding

Originally uploaded by shoedish

Color is a very important part of a shoe, you know, and the color bleed trend can easily be done wrong. Here’s an example of the color bleeding trend gone so wrong. It’s like Barbie got in a fight with Ken and forgot to finish dying her shoes for prom. NOOOOOOOO! Do you see what I mean about the color bleed gone wrong? Is it just me? Maybe this shoe wouldn’t be a shoedish fave had the color been finished - pink is complicated - but the drastic color change is just not working for us. Thoughts? Opinions? Would you buy these pink color bled ballerinas from Capelli NY? Shade shifting, color blocking, and hue bleeding; what’s your favorite new trend?

designer to watch: ld tuttle

Originally uploaded by shoedish

Shoedish is loving on these peep-toe shoe booties from LD Tuttle! We’ve just gotten ourselves comfortably into summer footwear - yummy gladiators and pretty platform sandals - and already we’re dreaming of fall footwear. I guess it’s true what they say about never being happy with what you have, which is why it’s the perfect time for a little bit of LD Tuttle love. Tiffany Tuttle, the ballerina-turned-designer of LD Tuttle, creates shoes that are unlike your average Joe footwear and there’s nothing shoedish loves more than a unique pair of shoes. We’re always wanting more - shoedish is a greedy little shoe whore - and LD Tuttle gives it to us good. With shoes that are as architecturally sound as they are creatively artistic, manufactured in Italy (the designer shoe capital of the world), and sold internationally in some of the leading boutiques, LD Tuttle is a women’s footwear and accessories designer everyone should be watching.

trend alert: jessica simpson and the color bleed

Originally uploaded by shoedish

Here are a few more movers and shakers for the new color bleeding trend. The Shoe Dish told you yesterday about the new summer and fall lineup of fantastically fun color crawl shoes and these olive green mary jane t-straps are among the better half. There is something about this trend that can make a shoe seem all wrong, but this gradual and subtle color change works. Besides the perfectly perfected bleeding technique, these shoes from Jessica Simpson have something else going for them, a classic look. School yard sweet meets 20th century chic. When are they going to come out with technicolor shoes? Now that would be cool!

kailia shoes and the “green” trend

Originally uploaded by shoedish

Today “Going Green” is more than just a trend, it’s a way of life and with Hollywood quick on their heels in the eco-friendly game, the rest of the world is soon to follow. That, my eco-conscious shoe fiends, is where Kailia Footwear comes in. And you thought there would never come a day where vegan, eco-friendly, and GORGEOUS would come together in a happy synergistic movement of style. Kailia shoes are an eco-friendly shoe that stands out above the rest because of their sheer brilliance in style. Too often are we faced with granola footwear that doesn’t fit the trends sweeping the designer runways, but that’s where Kailia is different. These shoes are not only elegant and polished, but they’re luxurious and chic. Now your unique and personal style doesn’t have to clash with your morals. On the tails of eco-friendly designer, Stella McCartney, and echoing Natalie Portman’s new line of eco-friendy shoes, Kailia too has a label that respects the environment as much as it does fashion. Check out their fall line today!
