We know that there are a lot of beauty myths out there that are exactly that, myths, but you may not be aware that all those old wives tails your mom and grandma have been shouting at you might be myths as well. Take this one for example: Artificial nails destroy your natural nails. Thoughts? iVillage.com attempts to sort fact from fiction in this weeks Top 10: Beauty Myths Uncovered where they asked Michelle Pierno, senior product development manager of Kiss products what the deal is. Pierno says, “The biggest myth regarding artificial nail wear is suffocation of the natural nail, thereby causing nail damage!” Pierno says it is not the artificial nail or the glue that ultimately causes nail damage, but improper removal—such as picking or prying off. “Nails worn and removed safely will not inflict any injury to the nail whatsoever!” Check out iVillage.com for the rest of the beauty myth busting.
