When I was younger, my mother used to always tell me that you don’t have to drink in order to have fun - she didn’t, mind you, ever warn me about getting too involved in soles, which is probably what she should have been doing, seeing as that’s my one true vice - and this coming from a woman who lives to drink margaritas and whose lasting impression of New York was the sangria we drank at the Yucca Bar. Okay, so she’s not a whino by any standards, but we all know what happens when your parents tell you not to do something…

My real “ism” as most of you well know is not liquid courage, but rather a much more reliable source of love and affection and the only thing that truly makes me feel good when everything else seems lost. Here’s the story of how I used my “lovah” to “lubricate” a very promising mystery social encounter…

While we’re on the subject of boots, let’s discuss the new Victorian boot trend hitting the stores this fall! Yay! We love, we love, we love!!! WSA Today asks, “Who said romance is dead?” and we must concur with such a blatantly obvious rhetorical question. The appropriately named ‘Feminine’ from Poetic Licence is truly poetry in motion; working poetry and by “working” we mean “Work it!” These yummy half-knee boots are complete with a dual-tone suede and leather material in complimenting blue and brown, but the best part is the deliciously unique ribbon laced vamp. We’re questioning the toe shape, but we will admit that it’s keeping with the theme and with the luxury of everything else, we’ll happily overlook it this time. It’s time to loosen the bustiere on that ultra-conservative Victorian look and play a little fast and loose. Welcome to the 21st century!

Okay people, can someone please talk to Ashley Tisdale about this new bohemian chic look she’s adopted. For goodness sakes! If I see another pair of western, biker, or flat-soled knee-high leather boots paired with tattered shorts, apron dresses or any other outfit that would have been appropriate at a famous outdoor concert in Woodstock, NY in 1969 I’m going to shoot myself. Who told this young starlet to follow in the fashion footsteps of Britney Spears? Really not a good idea, sweetie…and you seem smart and sweet and with a good head on your shoulders. Didn’t we recently give this girl a CSS? Western wear and any knee-high boot flies with us, but let’s start pairing them with things that are a bit more appropriate. It’s almost fall and soon enough it will be winter and then you can wear those cute boots anywhere you please. Kisses!
