boutique 9 channels dior

Coincidence? I guess we’ll never know. These pretty triple-strap pumps are a change of green pace, though equally as fun, flirty, and bright. Is it just us or is Boutique 9 from Nine West trying to channel Dior? That was a rhetorical question, of course, because these shoes practically knocked Dior’s Jazz Club Collection in the head and stole their buttons. Still, it’s rather pretty and we’ll take the copycat for a mere fraction of the designer price…plus it’s purple, which is shoedish’s other favorite color. Looks like today is a day for the traditional color splash - red, green, and purple, oh my!

‘opinions please’ friday: rsvp

Originally uploaded by shoedish

Now that, my shoe friends, is a vamp bow! Excuse me RSVP, Minnie Mouse called and she says she’d like her headband back now. Is it just us or do these shoes look befitting of Barbie’s foot; a little too plastic? There’s this wild shoe phenomenon going on right now where patent has gone from shiny plastic to gross rubber and these shoes are no exception. There is such a thing as too much and these plastic wedges from RSVP have taken there cue from Antonio Gaudi and then for some unGodly reason pushed it up a notch. We’re not feeling the shoe love, RSVP, and you’re totally ruining our green streak. Thoughts? Opinions?

project runway, bluefly, and roberto cavalli

Originally uploaded by shoedish

All you Project Runway fans need to head over to Bluefly.com to “Shop What Happened” on week 3 of the hit Bravo reality show. As you know, the designers have an accessories wall provided exclusively by the folks at Bluefly (love it!) and now you can buy the shoes and Bluefly’s recreation of the winning looks exclusively at Bluefly. Week 3 winner, Kenley, impressed fans and judges with her 80’s flashback night-on-the-town look. Were you impressed? If so, shop Bluefly for the emerald green Roberto Cavalli heels worn down the runway and check out Bluefly’s face plant on recreating this look. If you think you can do better, take the Project Runways Winning Look Challenge. While shopping Bluefly check out last season’s winner, Christian Siriano’s, new collection.

…and on the eighth day, god created shoes

Originally uploaded by shoedish

Did you know that there are 8 days in the week? Well, that’s what our favorite celebutard, Aubrey O’Day thinks - further pushing that blonde stereotype - but we’ll interject here, not to defend the Danity Kane singer, but to wonder briefly about this phenomenon. Oh, the possibilities…

On the eighth day, God created shoes!

It’s like gold in our mouth…hmmm, not sure that metaphor works, but anyway. Not that shoes need any help in the fantasy department, but try to imagine the feast of love and international devotion. It makes our toes wiggle. Here’s a shoe from Versace that shoedish will being kneeling for. BTW: We’re sure that little “8 days a week” comment was a tongue slip, as she’s doing 8 shows a week. It could happen to anyone. Aww, look at shoedish being nice.

Oh, yeah, my shoe fiends, that’s BJ’s reinterpretation of the Dorothy’s famous ruby red slippers from The Wizard of Oz.“If Dorothy were living in the 21st century, what would she wear?” That’s exactly what The Wizard of Oz Ruby Slipper Collection wants to know and to celebrate The Wizard of Oz’s 70th Anniversary (in 2009), Warner Bros has teamed up with Swarovski to re-invent that iconic fantasy shoe. 19 designers - A. Testoni, Abaete, Alberta Ferretti, Betsey Johnson, Botkier, Christian Louboutin, Diane von Furstenberg, Giuseppe Zanotti, Jimmy Choo, L.A.M.B, Lisa Pliner, Manolo Blahnik, Moschino, Oscar de la Renta, Roger Vivier, Sergio Rossi, Stuart Weitzman, Tibi, and Tuleh - will make up The Wizard of Oz Ruby Slipper Collection, which will be on display at Saks this September for New York Fashion Week. We can’t wait!!!
