It isn’t a huge surprise the dark nail polish is going to be the big trend for cold weather nails. It’s back to black! But, just because the rich darks are illuminating the runway doesn’t mean you have to fully follow suit. Shoedish is promoting dark brights for fall and winter; colors rich in depth and pigment can power through those bland winter days and liven up the pale paint that washes over the vast majority of us. We’re loving on Essie nail colors right now with poppy blues, greens, and purples we’re sure we’ll get through the winter with a little punch and pizzaz! Fashion is about doing what you like and right now (and always) we like color!

The upcoming cold weather season has left its mark on designers spring 2009 runway collections and the color that has one over the masses is every shade of pink you can imagine. From romantic pastels to rock n’ roll fuchsia’s, pretty in pink will be ruling the post winter season. One designer whose jumping on the pink panther bandwagon is Bourne who we might add is becoming a superstar women’s fashion footwear designer. The British brand has launched three new feminine city collections to its comfort and sometimes granola-ish footwear company with City Chic, Sultry Summer, and Modern Romance. There’s only one word we have for these bow-vamped slingbacks from the newly branded style icons and that is pretty!!! Did you ever expect this from the brand? We know we didn’t. The ‘Peony’ from Bourne are city chic, sultry summer and modern romance all rolled into one!

Every cold weather season as shoedish prepares to brave the elements in boot scootin’ style, we search high and low for the perfect pair of knee-high boots. It’s a bit of an obsession and as all those laws of the world go we never find what we’re looking for. Isn’t that always the way it works? If you are looking for a specific shoe, you will never find it, but when you’re not looking, a billion and one shoes are thrown in your face. It’s a cosmic joke! Well, lucky for shoedish, we’ve only begun to ponder boot season and haven’t actually made any moves to purchasing just yet. As luck would have it, a pretty, modern, and classic boot has fallen into our laps. Yay!!! These Stuart Weitzman boots from Saks are exactly what we need to put some rock n’ roll into our step and the best part is that we’ve barely scratched the surface.

More funky booties for your viewing pleasure. This time the junk on the toe is from our new favorite in affordable footwear, Cindy Jaime. These pretty peep-toe booties look like they got caught in paint ball war, which reminds us of that super duper cute scene from Ten Things I Hate About You and gives these booties double points. We’re loving the shiny patent blue platform and the contrasting rich blue, almost metallic, look of the oversized ribbon vamp tie. Peep-toe lace-up booties with an adolescent artistic flair! These booties are currently available at DSW for $69.95. Visit DSW today to pick up these and don’t forget to sign up for the rewards program and earn those shoe lover points!!

And the Celebrity Shoe Star is…Solange Knowles!!! Can we please talk about how sexy rexy Solange - baby sis of Beyonce - is? Did she hire Gwyneth Platrow’s stylist? Wowsers!!! She tops our Celebrity Shoe Star list this season with these absolutely stunning Stella McCartney beaded sandals and the rest of her shoe loving brood. We’ve never been shy about our distaste for Beyonce, but we cannot pass that on to the sis without due cause and from where we’re sitting, Solange is making up for all her sister lacks. Oh yeah, girl can sing too! Solange Knowles is currently promoting her new album, “Sol-Angel and the Hadley Street Dreams,” and this former teen mom is definitely coming out from behind big sisters shadow. I think we’re developing a small girl crush…
