3-d boots from anthropologie

a1.pnganthropologie.png

Now here is a boot we love to love. When you devote yourself to something so material, it’s nice to know that sometimes it gives back two-fold and these pretty sculpted booties are doing just that. Here’s something new and different for your fall boot collection! What’s so great about these boots from Anthropologie is that they’re just about as unique as you can get. The 3-D flowers that adorn the shaft of this would-be rugged cowboy boot are channeling real spring blooms. Here’s one way to pull you out of dull, dreary, winter days. They also remind us a tiny bit of those petal embellished bathing caps that women used to wear at the beach…but in a very distant place if that’s possible at all. Anyway, these perfect petals are perfect for a perfect fall boot!

We love the super steep stiletto heel and the classic sophistication of the clean and solid lines. This bootie is a little bit funk and little bit feminine all rolled into one sweet little fall boot. Pair these booties with just about anything for a high street look. We love us some versatility!!

new york fashion week: spring 2009 shoe preview

Originally uploaded by shoedish

New York Fashion Week is in full swing and you know what that means, it’s time for the fashion forecast for Spring 2009. Phew! We just got excited about boots for fall 2008. Well, it looks like fierce shoes are in the thick of it once again as spiky heels and studded stilettos rock out for spring 2009. Hard knocks will be reigned in by subdued hues like whites and beige, which will take the place of the current bolds and brights, but don’t expect everything to be neutral. Spring will take some power punches with figures and patterns as well as some metallic and gold for good measure. Also expect to see even more of the modernized and reinterpreted mary janes and a revamping of the gladiator look, which will now take on rock ‘n’ roll zipper embellishments and even more straps and cut-outs (some of which we’ve already started seeing this fall and winter). One thing is for sure, the shoe movement will continue…and shoedish can’t wait!

celebrity shoe star: christina ricci

Originally uploaded by shoedish

And the Celebrity Shoe Star is…Christina Ricci. Oh, how far this petite actress has come. As shoedish started this post today we began to think of all the roles that Ricci has played and it brought up a lot of our favorites. Remember little Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family movies and who could ever forget her superstar performance alongside Winona Ryder in Mermaids. What we love about Christina Ricci’s shoe collection is that it has a ton of solid classic favorites as well as casual comfort shoes; Ricci is a fan of toe-cleavage bearing peeked-toe stilettos and Converse kicks. Always a surprise, we never know what we’ll see her wearing next!!

the ruby slipper collection: new york fashion week

Originally uploaded by shoedish

The Wizard of Oz shoes have been fully realized. In July and August we showed you the designer sketches from A. Testoni, Abaete, Alberta Ferretti, Betsey Johnson, Botkier, Christian Louboutin, Diane von Furstenberg, Giuseppe Zanotti, Jimmy Choo, L.A.M.B, Lisa Pliner, Manolo Blahnik, Moschino, Oscar de la Renta, Roger Vivier, Sergio Rossi, Stuart Weitzman, Tibi, and Tuleh as they began to prepare for their reinterpretation of the famous Dorothy red slippers from The Wizard of Oz, which debuted at Saks Fifth Avenue last week at the opening of New York Fashion Week in honor of the films 70th anniversary. Shoedish loves to see shoe sketches come to life and this pretty “There’s no place like home” red slipper is certainly a modernized version of that famous shoe. Follow the yellow brick road to Saks in New York to see all the pretty peeps in the Wizard of Oz Ruby Slipper Collection live and in living color.
