Shoedish has a new favorite song thanks to our bff, H, in LA. We took a little trip out to Cali last weekend to take part in a melanoma awareness walk for our dearest friend, J, and H flew up from LA as well. My girls and I were riding to the airport Sunday night when H introduced us to this new song off Ne-Yo’s awesome new album and shoedish is officially in love. This is so our song!!!! It makes us take a little time to think of all our fellow power players out there and instigates a motion - an internal shoutout - to all our fun fearless females and independent women. Holla!! These rock ‘n’ roll booties from Colin Stuart at Victoria Secret say “Cause she walk like a boss, talk like a boss, manicure nails just set the pedicure off. She’s fly effortlessly. And she move like a boss, do what a boss. Do, she got me thinking about getting involved. That’s the kinda girl I need.”

We have our various reasons for disliking Juicy Couture. Let’s just say, for the sake of being PC, that we think they channel a two-bit trailer trash style that seems to be ruthlessly out of line with what we fantasize about as designer and couture. Sorry, but when your best marketing comes from Mariah Carey candids, you might have a problem. Mariah is awesome, don’t get us wrong, but after 18 years in this business you’d think she’d have learned to dress less like a ho. Was that PC? Anyway, on that nice note from shoedish, we have to do our casual flip flop and say that we are liking these pretty in pink ballerinas from the summer collection. The contrasting heel stripe and oversized vamp buckle give these bold flats a little taste of true feminine couture. Now, if only we could get some magic princess polish for the clothing line…

Don’t hate the player, hate the game. We’re pretty sure that’s what Nanette Lepore is saying to all her competition in the feminine footwear market. We’re sure that she says it in a sweet, almost facetious, and half-joking voice, but she says it none-the-less because there aren’t a whole lot of people out there who are developing fairy-tale fantasy shoes quite as successfully. These gold and gunmetal baroque mary jane platforms are a flash from the past; a little bit Old West meets Old Hollywood with a slightly subtle flair. As for the platform and the flower cutout at the quarter, well that’s just a little taste of the sexy modern. Oh, did we mention that she does that too?
