It’s actually painful to admit how much we like the shoe line that Jessica Simpson is paid to lend her name too. Um, excuse me, but shoedish has good taste in shoes and nobody has asked to pay us for the delightful use of our name. Boo! Oh well, I guess we’ll just have to wait for the day we see our name in lights. Until then, we’ll swallow our pride and give props to the designers behind this splendid little peep. These snakeskin-embossed platform heels from Jessica Simpson are making a solid play for Hollywood’s trendalicious fashion party. Are you loving the red highlights gleaming off the dark brown patent; it’s like gotta have hair in a tasty little shoe! Delicious and nutritious! Visit Macy’s today and stock up during their BOGO offer. Buy one pair of shoes and get the second pair for half off. Monday is getting better already!!

The Spring 2009 previews are in full swing, with an end to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York, London Fashion Week was in full swing last week and designers were busy showing all of us fashionista’s what we have to look forward to in 2009. New designers emerge as we toast the classic favorites as well. From Footwear News: “Designers took an anything-is-possible approach to spring. Dominated by diverse looks, the New York runways had something for everyone to aspire to. Footwear, in particular, showed countless options, including pastel colors, ankle-wrapped or fringe-embellished styles, wedge sandals and sport influences. That variety paired well with the season’s apparel, from slinky deconstructed harem pants and rompers at Max Azria and Donna Karan to rich metallic brocades and layered sportswear at Marc Jacobs and Oscar de la Renta.”

The footwear industry is gearing up for the 4th-annual Footwear Association Charity Event, a golf tournament to support and raise awareness for the welfare of China’s youth and impoverished citizens, which will take place October 29th - 31st in Zhongshan, China. “It’s a wonderful thing that so many of the people in this industry have stepped up to help so many needy children in China,” said Jim Issler, CEO of H.H. Brown, the industry firm who is leading the charity charge. This years goal is to raise $1 million for charities throughout China that are supporting health care and education. “It’s a great cause,” said Bob Campbell, president of BBC International. “We are giving children in China an opportunity to get the education they wouldn’t otherwise have.”

Shoedish hates everything in her closet! Yes, we’re having one of those kind of days. Scuzzy duzzy frumpkin is how we’ve left the house, but luckily we can hide out in the basement of the library for the next 8 hours and pretend that greasy hair and dog-hair ridden jeans are just a part of the back-to-school college experience. Hey, shoedish learned this weekend that reality means nothing when we live in a world based on personal perception. Well, isn’t shoedish just feeling philosophical this morning. Reality: These cold-weather casual platform boots from Charlotte Ronsons at Urban Outfitters are just a leather boot with a warm shearling center. Perception: To us, we think these are the perfect addition to any winter wardrobe. Great paired with opaque tights and skirts or skinny jeans, but we guess it’s really what you make of it.
