Did anyone even know who Kira Plastinina was until promotions for her reality show began airing on MTV? Think about it and don’t lie. If your curiosity has gotten the best of you and you’ve now joined a million other people, well shoedish is here with some minor details. It isn’t really a question of whether she’s rich, spoiled, and living off the heels of lucky status and nepotism, because clearly that’s the case, the question is is she talented as a young designer. There are plenty of celebutards who are undeserving of their monopolies, but others - luck of birth and silver spoons aside - who actually have talent. What do you think? Is she the next Stella McCartney or Paris Hilton? If the recent runway collection she revealed at Milan Fashion Week has anything to say for her future, we’d say she has a solid one when it comes to shoes. These may be reinterpreted for the ready-to-wear collection, but we like the wild, bold, and gaudy look of color, wedge, and gathered satin. The jury is still out on the character of the designer, but right now we’re digging the designs.

Shoedish visited an outdoor art festival and street fair yesterday and was bombarded by all that art slavery in the Southwest has to offer. Among the pretties we discovered, like a new turquoise thumb ring from a Brooklyn-turned-TorCer jeweller, a 10-month old Collie-mix pup we’re planning to name Merdoch, and a gazillion too-expensive-for-poor-shoedish paintings, was a fantastically gaudy shoe maker from Prescott, Arizona. The shoecool shoe makers of KoolShoos showed us that you can never have too many colors when it comes to decorating your feet. From classic mary janes to hi-top boots and peep-toes to low-tops, there is a hand-painted shoe just for you. KoolShoos are hand-cobbled by Mark Carter and hand-painted by he and his wife Cody; an artistic duo of major proportions. Aha!! Shoedish has been so obsessed with booties lately that we’ve been completely neglectful of all the pretty dress shoes out there. Case in point, these awesome blossom peep-toe platforms from Fendi. How could anyone neglect these pretty peeps? Neglected no more! With a shoedish fave in both t-strap and platform, these peep-toes are complete with a ginormous brooch embellishment on the vamp, which looks like a secret button for something; secret brothel, hidden stripper pole, or a some other really cool spy device. Maybe it’s just us, but we could totally have seen these on Anne Hathaway’s “Agent 99” from Get Smart, which is why we’re coming up with all these conspiracy theories. Thoughts?
