United Nude might be most well-known for its iconic eamz heels, which while seem to be chaotic and insecure are architecturally-sound and comfortable. Ah, how we love it when style meets pure brilliance in innovation. The United Nude collection has expanded on its classic sandal designs with the futuristic heels to a more broad look at the classic styles that have landed on this years reinterpretation block. From feminine spectators to mary janes and mid-high boots to round-toe wedges, United Nude is stepping up its fashion game all the while maintaining that wild heel that made them so famous. With all the funky heels we’ve been seeing coming off the runways from New York to Milan, it looks like Spring ’09 might be another year for the fantasy heel and United Nude is playing with the big boys.

Big news rocked the shoe world today with the announcement of Richard Mina’s termination. Mina was the president and CEO of the Foot Locker In. USA division. Mina’s termination will be effective starting Oct. 31, but Foot Locker has asked him to resign from his position effective yesterday. What happened? Richard Mina has been a part of the Foot Locker franchise for nearly 30 years and his recent agreement was renewed just six months ago and outside sources said there are no plans to replace Mina. We’ll be keeping a close eye on this one. In the meantime, Mina stands to acquire a hefty payout. Whether he is terminated by the company without cause or for good reason, he would receive $3 million, while a resignation would give him $1.4. Yowsers!

Hollywould rocks the dual personality and brings back the 80s - with a modern twist - in these peeked-toe legwarmer boots. This gives buy one get one a whole new meaning. These suede boots come with a peeked-toe stiletto bootie and a removable knee-high shaft, allowing you to have two distinct looks. If you’re feeling a simple bootie is all you need, leave the legwarmer in your closet. If you’re feeling a night made for the knee-high boot, walk tall in your fashionably distinct legwarmer knee-high stilettos. We don’t know about you all, but these boots are satisfying that pesky Gemini twin who makes shoe dating so difficult for this sole sister. She is very hard to please…

Shoedish recently discovered that there is a pomegranate tree growing in her back yard. Pomegranates!!! How cool and unusual is that? Of all the things you’d expect to be growing in your backyard - apple trees for instance - pomegranates are not among them. We can’t complain, but we are sad to see them go. The fall has begun and along with it comes the slow changing of leaves, which signals the onslaught of cold weather. Now, as we watch our pomegranates ripen and fall and then wither and dry up, we are reminded of how little time left we have to wear sandals!!! That’s right, shoe whores, it’s time to dig into your sandal reserves and wear those babies out like a college student in winter (we all did it). These Toxi leather t-strap gladiators from Fiorentini + Baker are flats you need to be wearing while you still can. Get them now; they’ll still be in style next spring anyway.
