If we told you that we watched Paris Hilton’s My New BFF, would you think less of us? What if we told you that it was merely research for a social experiment? Okay, so maybe we were just intrigued…can you really blame us for that? It’s like the time we watched Britney Spears and Kevin Federline’s Chaotic (now we really dropped a few notches) and even as the horror hit us, over and over and over, we could not stop watching. It’s like watching a train wreck! Well, we were pleasantly surprised to see one of our favorite designer duos, Heatherette, on Paris’s show. That was almost worth the unbearable hoochie horror alone. Heatherette, who has had exclusive collections at Irregular Choice and a new line of cosmetics at M.A.C. is a pop culture icon, with their risky creations and unique designs. We heart Heatherette and we’re totally going to watch this silly reality show…just don’t tell anyone.

Red leather boots from Anthropologie

Yummy! This boot from Anthropologie reminds us of ripe red apples, which then reminds us of apple orchards and then we think of fall…and when we think of fall we think of leaf peeping, warm colors and gorgeous neutrals…and then we are actually excited that it’s almost time for the exclusive wearing of coats and scarves and BOOTS!!! Yay for fall when there are pretty knee-high boots to cheer up your drab winter blues. It’s hard to look sallow and pale when you’ve got red leather, knee-high, boots on your side. These are a part of the cowboy chic for fall and since these boots come to us all the way from Brazil, we are pretty sure they’re screaming sex and sass, even if only in a very subtle manner. Comfortable and chic; what more could you ask for in a fall boot?

“For us, fashion is an antidote to reality.” That’s what the design duo behind Victor & Rolf, Victor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, say about the delicate intricacies of fashion design. The Amsterdam-born team worked for Maison Martin Margiela before launching their own brand in 1993 and in 1998, Victor & Rolf put on an unauthorized fashion show during Paris Fashion Week, which began their own reality in signature design. The Victor & Rolf brand is famous for its iconic showpiece designs and this fashion year was no exception. The Spring Summer 2009 collection is as dazzlingly spectacular and fantastically glamorous creation of exotic design principals and concept-based high fashion and there’s absolutely none of this missing from the shoes as well. Here’s a look at what’s to come in 2009, a season that will continue to focus on the reinterpretation of classic designs with even more abstract strapping techniques, cut-outs, color, and structurally unique heels and platforms. Shoes really are beginning to take center stage. We loves!
