purple loafer bootie from colin stuart

For the necessity of owning a pair of purple booties alone, we must own these satin loafer booties from Colin Stuart. It’s no secret how much shoedish loves purple. We’ve told you our college story concerning the subject and how for years we couldn’t bare to wear purple, but now we’re completely obsessed. Our hair stylist told us just the other day that we should wear purple, because it would help to mute the red in our face. Who knew? These Colin Stuart pumps, also available in neutral black and fun flirty animal-print, are on sale right now at Victoria Secret. They remind us of that funny quote we read earlier this month: “When I am an old woman I shall wear purple, with a red hat that doesn’t go, and doesn’t suit me. And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves and satin sandals, and say we’ve no money for butter.”

new in you, different in shoe: crabtree & evelyn talcum powder

Shoedish has become completely obsessed with Crabtree & Evelyn’s Lily of the Valley talcum powder. We used to think post-shower powdering was an old school tradition reserved for our grandmother, but recently we’ve fallen in love with the ritual. It’s the best way to stay fresh all day, leaving a subtle fragrance on your skin, keeping you just a bit more dry, and it even makes you fell softer!! We loves! The best thing about this particular fragrance is that it smells so scrumptious and yummy that we’re practically ready to nibble our arm off after we’ve sprinkled it on our skin. Seriously, ya’ll, we think it might be the best subtle fragrance ever. Another great thing about talcum powder occurs when you use it on your feet. Dust a small amount all over your peds to keep them dry; preventing bruised toes from slipping forward in heels and increasing the chances of having nice smelling feet at the end of a long day. Just try it!!

sigerson morrison for target

Sigerson Morrison’s fusion collection for Target has landed. We wanted to do a big story about this, but we’ve been trying to decide how to go about it. Unfortunately, shoedish is just not impressed. These boots - while filled with all the unnecessary and yuckiness of what “affordable” often does to shoe design - are not even the worst of the collection. We expected more. We really like the design duo behind Sigerson Morrison and their true love affair with shoe design. What happened? What’s worse is there isn’t a lot of choices in this new collection that even tries to commit itself to the girl who wears round-toes. Hello? These shoes are just glorified Payless - no offense - but I thought that the whole point of teaming up with luxury brand designers was too see affordable “luxury” design. This is not that. What happened to all those S&M reinterpretations and slinky-like strapped knee-highs we saw in their recent collection. Impress us by making those affordable.
