Last season many designers, like Prada and Miu Miu, brought down the runway with their fantasy inspired heels. Whimsical designs that channel nursery rhymes, fairytales, and fantasy children’s books took to the streets and with some heel love in the back and decorative vamps in the front, they attempted to rule the trend school. Miu Miu is back with the whimsy pattern, but this season it’s a much more subtle adventure. Color has been replaced by neutral tones, while decorative scallop details and sculptured heels have remained true to the through-the-looking-glass inspiration. These peep-toe mary janes from Miu Miu are like a little leather flower for your feet, which is exactly what you’ll need as the leaves continue to fall and the flowers begin to freeze.

Well now, these are kind of fun! We’ve been so consumed with peep-toe booties these last few months that we’ve neglected to see all the promise in mid-section cut-outs. We love the peep-toe, but it’s time for some new additions to the extreme cut-out family. If you’re still living in the middle ages and think that all these crazy cutouts aren’t suitable for the winter months, let us be the first to welcome you to the new world order. Here’s a place where you can wear white after labor day, don’t have to match your purse to your shoes, wear coats that are shorter than your dress, and even wear opaque tights with peep-toes and socks with sandals. These mid-section cutout booties from Bebe are all pushing the envelope. We’re loving the ankle rivets and mary jane straps, but mostly we’re just digging the mid-section black hole. How cute would these look with colorful opaque tights?

With all the talk about winter boots and the purple craze this winter season, we thought it may be due time to get back to our favorite color roots. Poor green has been so patient with us these past few months as we’ve tested the waters, so to speak. We wouldn’t say we’ve been cheating on our boo, but we’ve definitely been pushing the limits of trust. We’ll always have a soft spot for all the colors of the rainbow, but in the end, green is our one true love. To offer a sincere apology and help weather the storm, we’re sending out a great big bouquet of green Christina Lacroix shoe love. How preciously pretty are these shiny patent pumps with oversized Minnie Mouse vamp bow. People often ask me to explain my obsession with both shoes and the color green, but when we see shoes like this we think they pretty much speak for themselves.

With the world series getting rained out and the Broncos pooping their way through the season, shoedish has set her sights on news from another sports arena. It’s that time of year again and with the start of the NBA and college basketball seasons, we’re interested in only one thing and that is the Team Signature Commander 2008 Champions shoe from Adidas, commemorating Kevin Garnett’s firt NBA Championship. “Our amazing run to the NBA Championship was a complete team effort including the fans, so I wanted to do something for the people of Boston,” said Garnett in a statement. “The Celtics brotherhood goes far beyond the court. The Boston fans are the heart of our team, so it’s nice to be able to give back to the community that’s given us so much.” Only 17 pairs were made and fans can bid on the shoes at Celtics.com/shop beginning tonight at 8 EST. Garnett will wear the limited edition shoe during the Celtics’ season opener, against the Cavaliers, tonight.

Shoedish participated in early voting this election season and while we’re happy to be done with it, we almost wish we could visit the poles on November 4th just to be a part of it! Only 7 days left until the election. Have you voted yet? In honor of this historic election year, several of your favorite shoe stores will be offering Election Day sales. I guess it sort of falls in turn with Halloween, but whichever way you look at it, a sale is a sale, right? Here’s another way to look at fringe politics. These cowgirl chic Indian sleek fringe stiletto dress sandals from Steve Madden are making fashion promises they might actually be able to keep. Receive 20% off your entire order when you enter the code ‘votemadden’ at checkout.
