Over here at The Shoe Dish, we are big fans of costume jewelry. With a serious love of gaudy and over-the-top shoes, you can only imagine the things we’d try on our wrists, ears, fingers, and necks. Our Nana was an actress and when she passed, she left behind a wonderful collection of some of the most amazing costume jewelry on the planet. Over-embellished cocktail rings mingle with dance pencil necklaces while gaudy gold charm bracelets jingle in our jewelry box. There’s nothing like a fmaily heirloom, but when we heard that Nicole Richie was developing a line of costume jewelry, the House of Harlow 1960, we couldn’t help but get a little excited. Call it modern nostalgia, if you will. The 50-piece costume-jewelry collection for Mouawad ranges in price from $30 to $150 and will be available in late November at Kitson boutiques and online.

Here’s an almost 4 -inch stiletto heel for your leg lengthening lovers. These pretty yellow sandals from L.A.M.B. are making us want to throw in the towel on all things fall and winter boot scootin’ and go running for the beaches of Jamaica. Who wants to be stuck in the cold, when you could bare summer bronzed stems sporting these pretty t-strap stilettos. The curved strap details and contrasting stripes make for a sporty kick while the bright summer yellow brings in all the warmth of a hot summer day. These summer sandals are available for pre-order from L.A.M.B.s spring 2009 collection and will be shipped in mid-November…just in tiem for the fist winter snowfall. I guess in lieu of summer, you could pull a Carrie Bradshaw and wear these sandals with tights or wool thigh high stockings. Hmmm…would you dare?

“It’s better to look your best than feel your best.”
We have to give a little shout out to Meredith Vieira of the Today Show. Here’s a women who just loves her stilettos and isn’t afraid to push the limit and that’s not just with the shoes. We’ve always been pretty neutral on the Meredith Vieira front. She did, after all spend a very long time on that annoying all women bitchfest, The View, but so too did Lisa Ling, who we rather like. Remember the infamous kiss? See, ya’ll, she does push the PC envelope. Anyway, back to the shoes. Meredith, like many other women are willing to suffer in the name of fashion and here’s another heel from Stuart Weitzman that’s ready to stick it to em’. Thankfully, as the stiletto gets higher, so too does the hidden platform and these sexy platforms go, like, New York skyscraper high, so it’s a relief when you get just a little help from the sole.

About a month ago, we featured these scalloped, scale quarter, peep-toe booties from L.A.M.B at Topshop after we fell head over heels in love with their Big Bird appeal. Now we’re happy to announce the arrival of the splendid knockoff reinterpretation available at Bakers. Didn’t we tell you that Bakers was turning into the Steve Madden of cumulative warehouse shoe stores? Hey, whatever it takes to stay in business in this rocky little economy of ours. The scalloped ruffled vamp of these peep-toe booties is almost spot on to the designer version, except for the lack of scales on the back heel and aside from the lack of a yellow option, we’d say they’re a pretty good little fall boot trend investment. Whether you’re dreaming in feathers or petals, these booties are perfect for your final conclusion. Maybe we’ll be Big Bird for Halloween this year; a very trendy and cool Big Bird that is…
