Shoedish had a very bad week last week. One of the worst on record yet, in fact, and we’ve had some pretty bad ones. It all started when our car broke down. You might say, cars break down, suck it up shoedish, but this is a car that we just spent $3,000 to repair, so feel free to commiserate just a tad. The very next day, our car (different car; not the one that broke down) was broken into in our front driveway and our phone was stolen. But, the worst thing of all is that we’re afraid Riley, our pug, is ill. He went for blood tests and x-rays on Friday and we’re waiting for the results. Even though this might be one triple threat that even shoes cannot cure, we’re still going to try with these red, circle-quilted platforms from Irregular Choice.

People used to tell me that I was crazy to move to New York; that it was too dangerous and full of crime. I balked at them then and I balk even more now. New York is the only place I’ve lived where something “dangerous” hasn’t happened. In Barcelona, almost every person I knew was robbed at least once. In Albuquerque, it seems that people are brazen enough to break into cars sitting in driveways. You see where this is going? Today, all I want is for New York to cradle me in its big, congested arms, and tell me “everything is gonna be alright, everything is gonna be okay.” These lattice, cut-out peep toe sandals from Fendi are our new mace.
