Shoedish is not a big fan of Wal-Mart and as it seems to be the only company growing in the current recession it makes the distaste even worse. So, you can imagine the bittersweet feeling we felt when Wal-Mart was forced to recall almost 300,000 pairs of shoes due to safety concerns last week. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported that the women’s pointed-toe slingback by the George line pose a falling hazard due to easily detachable heels, while Buster Brown & Co.’s “Cars”-themed fleece clog children’s shoe poses a choking hazard. No injuries have been reported by either product, so shoedish feels safe in her cackling joy.
