Shoedish got blasted by a reader the other day for a harmless post we wrote on Crocs in September of 2008. While we were merely sharing information we found from another source, we won’t try to defend ourselves from ridiculous Croc fans who think it’s necessary to curse at an individual for having a negative opinion on their beloved brand. That said, we just thought we’d mention that Crocs is struggling right now. Footwear News reports that the Crocs brand recorded a net loss of $22.4 million in the first quarter and has reduced inventory (on a year-over-year basis) by 51%. You can blame it on the economy, but we like to think that people are wising up…that’s what we’ll continue to tell ourselves anyway.
