At long last, the coveted blue satin, embellished brooch vamp pump from Manolo Blahnik - famous for it’s appearance in the Sex in the City movie - have gone on sale. Though the sale is rather slim in our books, it’s a sale none-the-less and we feel it is our duty as a shoe queen to let you all know. These blue beauties are a designer replica of the shoes that Carrie wore to marry her Big; the shoes that were in the fancy closet in equally fancy house in upper Manhattan that she went back for when she at long last reconciled with the man who tortured her going on ten years (more or less). Available at FootCandyShoes.com for $661.50, marked down from $945.

Speaking of name toters, Kors by Michael Kors to name one, here are some gold metallic and brown leather wedge sandals from (actually it’s) MICHAEL by Michael Kors That’s right, my shoe friends, he has two name-on-name lines. We’ll forgive the self-idolizing because the shoes are so cute. Here’s a perfect wedge for your summer lovin’ and sunnin’. Complete with a wooden cutout wedge and a stacked wedge of conrasting materials, this statement-making sandal doesn’t need a fancy designer name to get noticed. Available at Nordstroms for $88.90.

Does anyone else here find it unbelievably amusing that Steve Madden has a slightly higher priced line of shoes? We always have to laugh when big brand designers have aptly named high end lines or slightly lower end lines. This isn’t Steve Madden, no, it’s Steven by Steve Madden. Haha! This bedazzled yellow skimmer - Steven - Stardom (Yellow Leather) - Footwear
is one such shoe. Pretentious? Well, maybe slightly, though it is about a quarter the price of any of those other name touting conglomerate types, Marc by Marc Jacobs or Kors by Michael Kors. You get the picture. Available in blush, bone, black, and yellow at zappos.com
for $119.96.

It’s been awhile since we’ve posted a designer challenge here on The Dish and what better time than the present? These Woven Platforms
from CharlotteRusse.com
are looking sneakingly familiar to us. Could it be that they’re mimicking one of our favorite pair of pumps from
GUESS - Karaoke (Black) - Footwear
? So, what do you think? Do you prefer the knock-offs for $29.99 or the originals for $119.95?

Last Friday, Banana Republic’s accessory store prototype, Edition by Banana Republic, opened in San Francisco. The opening is pretty big news for the Gap
Inc. corporation, who also runs Old Navy and its namesake stores. In todays economy, with news that other mid-market stores like Abercrombie and Ann Taylor are considering shedding some of their stores, opening a new free standing accessory store is quite an undertaking. But with over 80% of the merchandise coming in under $100, shoedish is all about it. If you live in the San Francisco area, let us know what you think of the new space.
