ask shoedish: closed-toe sandals

I love the strappy/gladiator style shoes, but my work dress code does not allow open toed shoes.  Do you possibly know of any closed toe styles?

Boo to dress codes that trump fashion. While we totally understand the desire to keep standard dress codes in work environments, we also see the difference between a rubber flip flop and a chic sandal. Thank goodness that designers have allowed for wiggle room for working women fashionistas. It sounds like a misnomer, but believe it or not, closed-toe sandals do exist. The fisherman sandal is a great example of this and with huarache sandals and reinterpreted gladiators coming on the scene, you’re sure to find a closed-toe style to fit any trend from comfy and casual to sleek and chic. Here are a few of our favorites:

Appreciated the suggestions for close toed, but now see those who are looking shouldn’t bother. Cute pair of flats (Sigerson) are how much???? The first two pairs shown, Aerosoles, WOW…how stylish are those…won’t the gals be jealous of me!!!! I think the only decent option are the Bronx Shoes example. I guess those of us limited on work footwear are doomed, unless a designer decides to maybe keep us in mind when it comes to stylish choices for the summer.
