New York and London’s Fashion Week has The Shoe Dish team all abuzz with the up-and-coming styles for Spring/Summer ’10. What else will be new when the birds return to sing, the flowers retur to bloom, and the bees once again buzz? Straps and ankle ties! That’s right, my shoe kittens, straps are back and bigger than ever for spring 2010. What do we mean by straps, you may ask? Almost anything loose, unattached, and moving goes here. Ankle ties in leather, ribbon, and even chiffon are the freshest way to do banded straps for the new season. Stiletto sandals and peep-toe booties get a touch of sassy styling with these wrap-around details. But, the best way to bring you this style is to show you. As you know, shoedish is trading in her stilettos for athletic shoes and training for a triathlon. Now, this doesn’t mean that we’ve stored our precious peeps away, but we have been discovering the power of athletic gear. Our most recent discovery is that we’re to keen on thick socks, which is why we were so thrilled to discover these bike-specific socks from, wonder-of-all-wonders, Keen. The maker of that river shoe has added a new, bike-specific, style sock to its cycling gear lineup. The Springwater low-cut tab Ultralite sock complements Keen’s expanded bike-shoe offering for spring ’10. Shoedish hasn’t been a big fan of the super platform, particularly the hidden super platform that made its debut just a few seasons back, because it reminds us of a gnome or some other strange fantasy character that seems incommensurate with their actual size.
