Who needs catwalks and pin thin models when you can launch with a lavish outdoor feast. It’s the way the kings would have done it. Brunello Cucinelli likes to do things his own way, after all. The brand, which started as a fine cashmere distributor, has opted to sell their shoe line alongside the clothing in high-end department stores, likes Saks and Bergdorf’s. Expanding since it’s Fall ’09 launch, Brunello Cucinelli, has a 20-strong footwear collection that includes chic casuals like washed suede shoes and brogues and comfort sophisticates like open-toed thongs and driving moccasins. “It’s a moment for a more understated look,” said the designer.
