We know we don’t do a lot of talking on accessories here at The Shoe Dish and while we wouldn’t venture to say we’re equally obsessed with bags as we are shoes, we are pretty fond of all the totes and handbags out there. In fact, we’ve recently become obsessed with this pretty tote from Kate Spade. The Boerum Hill Mikkel from Kate Spade makes us have one of those “Oh, my God, I have to have this!” moments you get when you lust after something you think you need and begin to conjure up plans on how to get it NOW! How can I rationalize spending $345 on a purse? We have been wanting a smaller day bag, after all. Then again, we have never even spent $345 on a pair of shoes, so we couldn’t really spend that kind of money on our secondary love. Or could we? Christmas is coming; anyone want to buy us this bag?

The nautical trend continues! We know that not all of you have jumped aboard the boat shoe bandwagon and that’s okay, but you may want to rethink your block on all things nautical, because Spring ’10 promises even more for the sailing-inspired shoe trend, especially when it comes to dress sandals for women. Designers have taken a cue from Fleet Week and have added dress heels to the list of shoes you can decorate with anchor charms, rope embellishments, cork details and of course, it wouldn’t be American-made nautical without a bit of red, white, and blue. Designers like Charles David, Miss Sixty, and Modern Vintage have added the natical-themed footwear to their list of Spring ’10 and Resort ’09 collections. All aboard!

Charles David

Modern Vintage

Miss Sixty

Rough Justice
*The above styles will be available around February of 2010.
