Now here are some shoes fit for the weather. Baby it’s getting cold outside and while we’re excited to pull out booties, rock our knee-high boots, and wear the newest in the over-the-knee trend, there’s still room in our closet for the casual and rugged winter boot. Hey, in this city, snow doesn’t fall straight down and you don’t want to get caught in a swirling snow-clone wearing sexy, red, suede stiletto boots. Trust us! So, when the weather is really bad, opt for one of these. Luckily, designers have taken rugged and winter-weather-worthy to a chic new level!

While alien platforms, opened-up boots, and sky-high stilettos ran the catwalks for the Spring ’10 fashion shows, there is still something to be said for casual, simple, and affordable footwear and Jellypop is your brand for all things simple, sweet, and even a little granola next spring. The brand, which caters to trend-loving teens and college students and has a price point to match is perfect for the 20-somethings market. With multi-strap platforms and wedges dressed in metallics, cut-outs, beads, and flowers among the designs in the Spring ’10 collection, it’s no surprise the retailers are jumping aboard as well. Retailing from $39 to $69, Jellypop just might be the next big thing in department shoe brands.

Shoedish has been trying her darndest to convince people that peep-toe sandals with tights are a perfectly respectable fashion trend. It’s all in the way you wear it, really. I mean, if designers can open up boots for spring and summer wear - as shown on the catwalks of the most recent fashion shows previewing Spring ’10 - than why not up the ante with hosiery con open-toe? The ‘Adele’ from Bebe would be a fun addition to this winter’s shoedrobe. With an open-front, snakeskin bands, and a t-strap, what’s a little tight going to do? Show your confidence with a little glimmer, slither, and glam with these opened up sock sandals from Bebe. Available at Bebe online for $74.99.

The entire wardrobe for Emma Pilsbury on Fox’s hit show, Glee, has officially become a source of fashion inspiration for us here at The Shoe Dish. With movies like An Education and shows like Mad Men, it’s easy to get sucked into the glamorized ideal of 60s-version family traditions, as latent in social constraint and moral obscurity as they may be. Is it strange that we find it all a tad bit sexy? Guess it has something to do with living today. It’s much easier to live vicariously, after all. With the classic, short-heeled pump back and hotter than ever, it’s easy to fall victim to this buttoned-up style. These Women's shoes/bags: Nanette Lepore French Lesson - Black and red
are complete with a very distinct raised-cord design and the red fabric screams for the internalized plight of the old suburban housewife. Available at Piperlime for $199.50.
