So, shoedish has managed to seriously injure herself. As many of you know, we are currently in training for a triathlon and have been logging some serious mileage. Well, two weeks ago, while playing soccer, we hurt our ankle. At the time, it seemed like no big deal and we walked it off, but as the training increased so too did the pain. Instead of resting, we decided to push ahead and now (alas) we’ve done it. Not only do we have to stop training indefinitely, but we have also had to retire the vast majority of our shoe collection…indefinitely. Oy! We are now hunting for comfortable flats that have mouths large enough to accommodate an ankle brace. So far, we’ve had very little luck, save for our handy dandy Sanuk - Getaway Chill (Blue) - Footwear. Our doctor wouldn’t probably approve, but no matter how injured we may be, we absolutely refuse to wear Saucony’s to anything other than the gym.

Here’s something new and different for your feet. I’m sure you’re wondering why we’re posting sandals as the winter seems to slowly creep upon us, but if you live on the east coast, you know that we’re experiencing a bit of an unexpected warm front. After the cold and rain we experienced last week, it’s nice to breathe in a real fall and dreaming in shoes just makes it that much better. These unique sandals that are a cross between some ancient form of the fisherman sandal and a modern gladiator are kind of like a Pug; so ugly they’re cute. They’re so original that you almost can’t help but like them, even though you know they’re not really attractive. Are they? Heidi Klum to Launch Own Line

There is no question that Heidi Klum is the shiznit, but we’d be lying if we didn’t roll our eyes when we heard the latest fashion news: “Heidi Klum to Launch Own Line”. Okay, so we can’t really be that surprised, and as far as celebrity fashion lines go - Lauren Conrad, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Sienna Miller - at least it actually makes sense for a woman who made a career out of modeling designer fashion to start her own collection, but whatever happened to the old hat ways of building a profession; blood, sweat, and tears? The collection is set to launch in Fall 2010 with a line of footwear, which will later branch into swimwear, dresses, and activewear. I guess we can’t judge the product until it’s revealed…we’ll keep our fingers crossed.
