You may simply think we’ve lost our shoe-brained minds and as this is not the first summer sandal we’ve posted in the middle of winter, we’d be inclined to agree with you, you must remember that there are plenty of people out there who go to exotic locations and island resorts in the middle of winter. Hey, in our defense it’s summer in the southern hemisphere and we have plenty of lovely shoe lovers down there as well. Women’s designers are up to some new tricks for the spring fashion season and with all the shimmering, silver, and translucent fabrics, shoedish is wishing they were going to be available for the holidays. How perfect would these metallic silver and translucent mesh booties from Gianvito Rossi’s collection be for a New Year’s Eve party? Oh well, we guess we’ll just have to save them for the ball drop of 2011. Look for see-through touches to be a big trend for slingbacks, sandals, and opened up booties in Spring ’10. Translucent materials, like mesh, lace, Lucite, and even PVC will dress up shoes with a new silhouette that is as alluring and sexy as it is sophisticated and chic.
