Oh, how we love the bootie. What a great idea by the fashion Gods. A versatile shoe that can be worn with just about every piece of clothing in your closet, the bootie is like the casual shoe for the fashion elite. These sexy snake-embossed booties, the Loeffler Randall Lula Platform

is complete with a sexy side zip and hidden platform. Meant to be flaunted with a mini or skinnies, these snake-embossed leather booties feature an exposed side zip. 3/4″ hidden platform and 4″ covered heel. Leather sole. Loeffler Randall Lula Platform Booties

The mule is a classic backless shoe design that can be casual, formal, flat or heeled. The mule dates back to Ancient Roman times and was popular in both the 16th and 18th Centuries. By the early 90s, however, the mule was commonly associated with prostitutes. Popularized by Marilyn Monroe in the 50s - she also helped break their poor reputation - the clog has been the feature among many fashion cycles over the past half century. The mule, like most reinterpreted classics, has taken on several shapes and forms over the years, from pointy-toe versions to super stilettos and platforms. This year, expect to see more architecturally unique styles, as well as the clog, which is also coming back with a vengeance this season. We raise our toe boxes to the modern mule. Below are just a few of our favorites:

Frye Harness Mule Clogs

Alexander Wang Isabeli Haircalf Pointed Mules

Promise Studded Clog from ASOS
Camilla Skovgaard Tassel Knot Mules

Retro Slide from Yves Saint Laurent
Luichiny Women’s Phan Tom Mule

Jeffrey Campbell Stop Python Print Mules

It’s been awhile since we posted anything from Irregular Choice, but we couldn’t help ourselves when we stumbled across these. They’re so outrageous that we’re not sure if we LOVE them or are just in shock. Whatever it is, they certainly got our attention and we imagine they’ll get the same reaction from you and yours. A slouchy floral print shaft meets a platform open-toe sandal to create these modern flower child bootie sandals. Featuring adjustable straps at the top shaft and vamp and a hidden platform, these floral slouch booties are the perfect addition to your summer wardrobe and as an added bonus they’ll wear you right into next fall. Available at Free People for $248.

Zippers made there debut performance last fall, but opening for a long list of superstar trends had them lost in the hustle and bustle of the big business. This season, however, the trend will have its day in the spotlight. Headlining the trend tour for Spring and Summer 2010, zippers will embellish everything from hair accessories and handbags to jewelry and, of course our favorite, SHOES! Leather gladiator sandals from Pour La Victoire and sexy dress heels from Bisou Bisou are just the beginning of this super summer trend. We can’t wait to see all they (and you) do with it! Here are just a few of our favorites:

Kelsi Dagger Women’s Monroe Zipper Sandal

BCBGMAXAZRIA Myra

Pour La Victoire Dalena Zipper Flat Sandals

The Delano peep-toe zipper-vamp sandal from Bisou Bisou.

Jessica Simpson Women’s Noho Flat

Kelsi Dagger Women’s Caymen Ballet Flat

The caged look is back with a vengeance this summer and it’s bringing it’s A-game. These safari-inspired animal-print caged dress sandals from Boutique 9 are a spit-fire if we ever saw one. Talk about attention grabbing. These peep-toe stilettos are complete with not one, not two, but three different animal print atop a 4-inch stacked wood heel. The multiple prints, which include a giraffe heel, are laced together by a t-bar strip and black cording. This shoe is hot and will arrive just in time for summer! Currently available for pre-order, the Diedre will ship by June 1st.
