As shoedish preps for the return of the best show on television, we find ourselves being drawn to everything that even vaguely hints to high school days filled with all the stereotypes we imagine for privileged private schools. Shoedish loved high school, but we would have really loved high school in plaid mini skirts, knee socks, and platform mary janes. We should mention here, that we don’t care if it’s all a bunch of fictional crap, we eat it up none the less. These sexy, school master chic, peep-toe tassel loafers from BCBG, available at Macy’s, are the shoes we’d have worn while we made out with our too-good-to-be-true boyfriend Dan, as we sat in the quad with our daughter-of-a-designer best friend, while texting our teenage-pimp step brother using our iPhone. T - 7 days!! Get ready for the new Monday night; Gossip Girl starts next Monday!!! OMFG!

For all you pin-up girls and burlesque queens, shoedish has a hot new customized shoe team we’re happy to introduce. These pretty customized peeps are channeling all the charm, beauty, and sass from Old Hollywood pin-ups like Betty Grable to modern day beauties like Dita von Teese. For shoes that scream sex and class, Shoemissy, the artsy designer behind these sexy customized shoes, is just for you. Handcrafted and designed in Brighton, UK these pretty peeps are filled with all the gaudy embellishments you can handle, from rosettes and brooches to satin bows and scalloped trim. Shoemissy even has first place filly ribbons for the competitive shoer in you. These over-embellished ribbon heels featured to the right are inspired by Nancy Spungen - the infamous girlfriend of rocker Sid Vicious (are all those Gilmore Girls references finally falling into place?) and are complete with an anchor charm to add to the not-so-subtle grounding force of the shoes metaphoric flavor. There’s nothing shoedish loves more than a unique pair of shoes and nothing says unique better than a customized pair. Visit ShoeMissy.com today to find the perfect pair “for the pinup in you!”

Many of you may be wondering what happened to that big surprise we were alluding to the Friday before last. Don’t worry, you didn’t miss it. Shoedish needs to learn to contain her “big news” until it’s already got the kinks worked out. We get a little too excited sometimes. Anyway, we do have a big new surprise that will be arriving shortly. Unfortunately, our expertise are based almost exclusively in shoes and all other electronic, digital, and web related issues are above our intellectual capacity. The surprise is still there…its chugging along the mountain and we’ll be ready to reveal it very soon. Stay tuned…we promise it’s a fun one!
Shoedish has decided that there is a time and place for everything. Have you all been watching the Olympics? Well, shoedish is obsessed!! Who doesn’t love the Michael Phelps phenomenon, thinks poor Alicia Sacramone was robbed, and wonders how people get started in synchronized swimming…no, seriously! There we go, right off topic. Anyway, have you seen the new Crocs commercials that have accompanied the games? Okay, we’ll admit that they are quite clever (we’ve stuck one below for your viewing pleasure) but we’re still not completely convinced of this Crocs explosion. Crocs for everyday life? Maybe in you live in northern Maine. While traipsing through the woods yesterday, we began to think these might actually be a good investment. There is a reason they’re called the original boat shoe after all and the lakes and woods of the boonies call for a little Croc action. We still don’t think we’d wear them with our jeans…at least not in public.
