One of shoedish’s besties got robbed today!!!! No, not mugged, not pickpocketed, but blatant, pathetic robbing (not that pickpocketing or mugging would be any better) but it was a disastrous and painful affair and it didn’t even happen to us. In honor of L’s robbing - and courtesy of her I might add as she mentioned todays theme - we’re posting all the hottest in casual chase-down-a-bastard-thieve-shoewear, starting with these pretty running shoes from Nike and ending with these Puma street kicks. We might also add here that the shoes she was actually wearing while under attack of said thief were those very practical and pretty patent leather sandals from Payless. Some faux-leather strappy sandal flats and a little adrenaline made for a very impressive Team Catch Thief

Jeepers Creepers! Either we’ve posted these evil shoes once before or they’re haunting us. We read an interview with Posh Spice (aka Victoria Beckham) the other day where she talked about her ugly feet and loose skin (our words, because we’re not nearly cool enough to summarize in British slang). There’s no doubt that she’s skinny, but apparently Mrs. Becks has saggy skin from having three babies and refuses to go to the gym to tighten up because (and we will quote here), she “can’t wrap her mind around the footwear”. Hahahaha! That’s the best and most unique excuse we’ve ever heard for not working out. Vicki B is the original stiletto nazi and we’d expect a diehard like her to run on a treadmill in sky-high platforms, right? Anyway, the reason we bring up VB is because we believe that she is the reason for the sneaker platform comeback. It was the Spice Girls who brought them to the fashion forefront in the 90s and Vicky B was spotted wearing a similar pair to her sons soccer game less than a year ago. Well done, Posh, can you please rewind?
*Michael Kors platform shoes available at Nordstroms.

Magdalena Lewy Boulet earned a spot on the U.S. Olympic team by finishing second in the 2008 Women’s Olympic Marathon Trials held in Boston last month to secure her participation in the Beijing Olympic games this summer. If that weren’t reason enough for the native of Poland, who became a US citizen in 2001, she has now been signed to a multiyear endorsement deal by leading athletic shoe company, Saucony. Saucony also supports the Olympic hopefuls Molly Huddle, Alicia Shay, and Gabe Jennings. Richie Woodworth, president of Saucony, said in a company statement, “Everyone at Saucony is very excited that Magdalena is joining our family of athletes.” The ProGrid Trigon 5, featured here, is a favorite of Olympic hopeful Molly Huddle. Who else is super excited about the Summer Olympics? We sure are!!

The Chuck Taylor All Star Sneaker from Converse is the quintessential street kick of choice for cool guys and fly chicks…and everyone in between. This year Converse is celebrating its 100th birthday; a century of pure American originality. Converse was founded in 1908 as a rubber company making tires, boots for WWII, and even hockey pucks. In 1917, the first All Star sneaker - a performance basketball shoe - was created and the very next year Chuck Taylor brought them to the forefront of American fashion when he laced up in All Stars for basketball games and in 1930 his signature was made a permanent part of the All Star emblem . “The Chuck Taylor All Star shoe is a functional, democratic, timeless American icon of design,” says the global creative director of Converse footwear, Scott Patt. From Kurt Cobain and Snoop Dogg to The Ramones and - of course the namesake who has had his signature tagged into the label since 1930 - Chuck himself, Converse has and continues to be an icon of style for everyone.

Attaching All Star and Pro Athletes names to athletic footwear and clothing is an age old story and today Pony International signed Randy Moss, of New England Patriots fame, in an exclusive partnership to design signature Randy Moss athletic footwear and clothing. “I get approached to endorse a ton of stuff each year that really doesn’t mesh with who I am or what is important in my life, this agreement with Pony lets me help to give back and help the next wave of young players coming up,” said Randy Moss of his signature line with Pony. Pony International designs high performance and casual athletic footwear and apparel for men, women, and children. Muhammad Ali, Spud Webb, Lawrence Taylor, Reggie Jackson, and Tracy Austin are among the many premiere athletes who have donned Pony gear. The first wave of Pony’s Moss branded gear will arrive August 1, 2008.
