Our good friend and lover of The Shoe Dish, Pumpkin, told us the other day that she bought a pair of purple jeans. When we asked her where she got them she asked us not to laugh and divulged her dirty little secret. “Delia’s,” she said. “Hmmm…why would I laugh?” “Because Delia’s is like a store for teenagers.” “Yeah, maybe, but we shop there too.” Hey, there’s nothing wrong with buying trendy duds on the cheap. How many of you venture into Forever 21 and look around nervously as you sneak from rack to rack? Don’t be ashamed; wear you’re proud sale finds on your feet. There’s nothing better than a knockoff Chloe dress that will be out of season in two months or a $2 gently-used cashmere sweater from your local thrift store. Shoedish loves a good discount. Take these Ugg-like winter boots from Delia’s, for example. These are cuter than any of the Uggs we’ve seen floating around this season and they’re a mere fraction of the price. Wear with caution; shoedish still doesn’t condone these boots in summer or even worse, in winter with mini skirts and bare legs.

While shoedish was living in Spain we wore straight through our comfort house slippers. They were just a cheap pair of standard red slippers with a furry inside, but we loved them! Since our return to the states we’ve been in search of a new pair of comfort shoes with a new stipulation, they must be able to withstand an occasional outside walk. Low and behold, we found our new slipper shoe. These yummy soft suede slippers from L.L. Bean were just what we were looking for and can be worn outside!!! Yay! The best part is that we bought them in store, during a sale, so they were 20% off. Oh, and they’re green. Double plus! Holla!

We never thought that we’d be giving anything that Juicy Couture does a two thumbs up, but we’re actually liking some of the new comfort series line of shoes they’ve recently launched. From feminine ballet flats to comfortable slippers, those Juicies know how to make you feel good. These suede slippers from the designers who turned butt labeling into a trendy fashion accessory are tempting shoedish’s tootsies. They’re a great little slipper, at least if $150 jewel embellished fur slip-ons are what you’re into. These apple red clog slippers are fit for a queen or princess, whichever your preferred hierarchy. Available at Saks for a mere arm and a leg…they would probably accept heads too.

Shoedish has decided that there is a time and place for everything. Have you all been watching the Olympics? Well, shoedish is obsessed!! Who doesn’t love the Michael Phelps phenomenon, thinks poor Alicia Sacramone was robbed, and wonders how people get started in synchronized swimming…no, seriously! There we go, right off topic. Anyway, have you seen the new Crocs commercials that have accompanied the games? Okay, we’ll admit that they are quite clever (we’ve stuck one below for your viewing pleasure) but we’re still not completely convinced of this Crocs explosion. Crocs for everyday life? Maybe in you live in northern Maine. While traipsing through the woods yesterday, we began to think these might actually be a good investment. There is a reason they’re called the original boat shoe after all and the lakes and woods of the boonies call for a little Croc action. We still don’t think we’d wear them with our jeans…at least not in public.
