We’re not sure how, or why, or where we first stumbled across these Jessica Simpson Matine
flats, but for whatever reason it is that makes us fiend for things beyond our control, these flats must have. We’re not even sure we like them, really. It’s more of a curiosity than anything. They’re gold and shiny, which makes us want to pet them, and they have a classic pump heel, which we’re digging off last years fall shoe season, and the keyhole ruching we’re feeling for none other than the fact that it is a completely useless detail. What are your thought?
Jessica Simpson Matine

Now that we’ve told you what styles to be looking out for this fall shoe season, we’re here to break it down just a little bit more. For the next few days we’ll bring you some of our favorites from the shoe trends list, from cutouts and clogs to OTK boots and military-inspired. We’ll start this week off with some of our favorite goods from the flannel trend. Here’s a great start for fall; a material that not only looks cool, unique, and uber trendy, but is seasonally appropriate as well, which isn’t always the case when it comes to trends. Here are some for our favorite from the flannel footwear department.

Cute, simple, feminine, and casual flats from Kate Spade - Nicolina (Grey Flannel) - Footwear
.

This flannel peep-toe wedge from Christian Louboutin is the perfect transitional footwear from summer to fall.

Steve Madden does flannel platform-style with the CARYSSA GREY FLANNEL
.

Tory Burch’s famous casual flat design - the Serena Ballerina flat - in all its flannel glory.

Stuart Weitzman - Unibuckle (Gray Flannel) - Footwear
does flannel in an office casual pump.

What would a flannel trend be without a knee-high boot version, like the Blowfish - Hottem (Grey Two-Tone Flannel) - Footwear
.

This season it’s all about perforated, mesh, and decorative cut-out leather fabrics. Forget extreme cut-out booties and caged sandals for two minutes, so you can focus on this great new trend. We’re not saying that those trends are dead and gone, because they most certainly aren’t, but this new breed of cut-outs will have you feeling refreshed and revitalized, the way any good trend should make you feel. From standard-issue perforated lace-up spectators from Tory Burch to fashion forward caterpillar-bitten leather booties from Anthropologie, there’s a decorative cut-out for just about every style and taste. Here are just a few of our favorites from across the design board:

Mini-perforations makes these cute, sassy, and boyfriend chic oxfords from House of Harlow 1960 very, very trendworthy.

Tory Burch redeems herself with
Victor Navy Leather
stacked wedge lace-up booties in a uniformly perforated design.

Who knew pests could be so artistic? These Grazing Caterpillar Booties from Anthropologie prove that holes can be very fashion-friendly.

Old meets new with the Sam Edelman Women’s Sawyer Oxford
, which brings the classic oxford style to trendy new heights.

Mesh can mean a lot of things, but when it comes to these open-toe sandal booties from Rachel Roy
, we think ‘to fit together effectively’ is the best definition.

It’s hard to believe that summer is coming to an end. The warm months are certainly not behind us, but Back-to-School season is creeping up and before you know it, the leaves will be turning and the sweaters will come out of hibernation. This autumn, prepare for the cold months ahead and fall into flats from Payless ShoeSource©
. Payless is the best place to start your Back-to-School specials with a brood of classic ballerina flat styles in the trendiest prints, fabrics, and designs. The best part is they’re cheap. Here are a few of our favorite flat styles for the upcoming season:

New York City just got a little more budget-friendly for us frugalista’s! This summer Marshall’s, a new Trader Joe’s, and Target opened in Manhattan. Yesterday, shoedish visited the new Target located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, which opened on Monday, July 26th. It’s the first Target on the island and it’s AMAZING! There was surprisingly little traffic, making us feel like we were in the burbs, and it’s so new and clean and refreshing. LOVE IT! We thought we’d give a little shout out. Target has some great deals on home goods, school supplies, toiletries, and groceries, but they also have great fashion and accessories and shoes, especially for tiny feet. Here are just a few flats we discovered. We’re very impressed by selection. Now, of course, we’re craving colorful flats!
