Now that we’ve told you what styles to be looking out for this fall shoe season, we’re here to break it down just a little bit more. For the next few days we’ll bring you some of our favorites from the shoe trends list, from cutouts and clogs to OTK boots and military-inspired. We’ll start this week off with some of our favorite goods from the flannel trend. Here’s a great start for fall; a material that not only looks cool, unique, and uber trendy, but is seasonally appropriate as well, which isn’t always the case when it comes to trends. Here are some for our favorite from the flannel footwear department.

Cute, simple, feminine, and casual flats from Kate Spade - Nicolina (Grey Flannel) - Footwear
.

This flannel peep-toe wedge from Christian Louboutin is the perfect transitional footwear from summer to fall.

Steve Madden does flannel platform-style with the CARYSSA GREY FLANNEL
.

Tory Burch’s famous casual flat design - the Serena Ballerina flat - in all its flannel glory.

Stuart Weitzman - Unibuckle (Gray Flannel) - Footwear
does flannel in an office casual pump.

What would a flannel trend be without a knee-high boot version, like the Blowfish - Hottem (Grey Two-Tone Flannel) - Footwear
.

Ever wonder how high heels became so important to women’s wardrobes? What do they say about power and gender in our society? In a recent interview with Collector’s Weekly, Elizabeth Semmelheck, a shoe expert, author, and curator at the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto, traced the evolution of heels, from 9th-century Persian footwear to the designs of Roger Vivier and Manolo Blahnik. Along the way, Semmelhack explains how influences and innovations such as erotica, extruded steel, and “Sex and the City” have made high heels the cultural icons they are today. Semmelhack is the author of “Heights of Fashion: A History of the Elevated Shoe.” She currently curates at The Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto. SERIOUSLY! Where were these shoes when we were looking for our Golden Birthday shoes??? They’re like, totally perfect! Absolutely ridiculous, obnoxious, uber platform, and incredibly noticeable. Like I said…PERFECT! Not that we didn’t love our gold chain and white leather platform sandals from Bebe, but we’d have totally worn these hard too. Oh, well! Looking for a golden pair of shoes for your upcoming event? Look no further that the Victoria G at Bakers Shoes for $80!

My best friend is getting married and STILL doesn’t have shoes…so I’m coming to you for some help. She was wanting blue…for her something blue. She hasn’t found any great ones and I am getting a little nervous for her! I thought I’d at least check with the only expert I know since my online search is not delivering for the picky little bride!
Wedding heels are traditionally white, but there’s an emerging trend among fashionista brides of wearing colored heels with their virgin white gowns. One such trend that kills two birds with one stone is that of the “Something Blue Wedding Heel”, which looks feminine and delicate while adding a subtle touch of color and ticks off one important wedding tradition all at the same time. You know how shoedish LOVES a versatile shoe! Here are a few of our favorites, most under $200 and one designer shoe, just for good measure:

The VANISSA BLU SDE
platform from Steve Madden.

Badgley Mischka Hyde - Blue Satin

Stuart Weitzman - Paradise (Midnight Satin) - Footwear

The Haughty Heel from Alloy

An expensive choice from Christian Louboutin, but a really, really pretty one. They’re pricey, yes, but currently 50% off at Barneys!

Paris Hilton - Senorita - Footwear
. Also available in pink and black at 6PM.com, as well as Shoes.com and Macy’s.

The Paris Hilton Suarey - Turquoise Satin

Martinez Valero - Caitlin (Blue Satin) - Footwear

Naughty Monkey Women’s Star Studded Platform Pump
