This weekend, shoedish was taken aback when we spotted a wall display the size of an olympic-size swimming pool covered in articles of hot pink clothing. Everything from sequined mini skirts to casual tank tops were on display. It was as if we’d walked into the dressing rooms of the cast of Legally Blonde; pink projectile vomit. What’s strange is that hot pink isn’t the color of the season. Was it all just a really bad dream? Okay, so hot pink isn’t all bad, but this season you can skip the hot neon bath circa 1980s and opt for a more mellow shade of pink. It’s been a while since we’ve posted anything from Steve Madden. Not that we have anything against the brand, except the obvious, but Steve Madden has been a hit and miss lately. We had grown bored, weary, and tired of the brand, until we spotted the VAALEY. They remind us of Robin Hood, a peaceful protest, and 1970s vintage all rolled into one shoe - just your basic anti-establishment-inspired platform with the perfect amount of hobo to make them uniquely chic.
