A few weekends back my girlfriend was telling me a story that she would share only after mentioning that what she was about to tell me might be too much information. It’s rare for my friends to preface their divulging with a TMI tag - it’s rather difficult to over share with shoedish - but society and nature have us all walking around with tape over our mouths. The Shoe Dish despises censorship, whether it have to do with the things that we say or the clothes that we chose to wear. Take for example these glitzy and ritzy wild on pumps, platforms, and t-straps from Christian Dior’s fall collection. If the fashion police had their way, they’d be blocking this shoe from all sides, sending threats, imposing fines, and generally making sad arguments as to why they should be banned from the feet of thousands of women who just happen to love them. Maybe it’s time for us to over share just a bit. Come on, shoedish fully supports all your dirty little secrets…

As shoedish preps for the return of the best show on television, we find ourselves being drawn to everything that even vaguely hints to high school days filled with all the stereotypes we imagine for privileged private schools. Shoedish loved high school, but we would have really loved high school in plaid mini skirts, knee socks, and platform mary janes. We should mention here, that we don’t care if it’s all a bunch of fictional crap, we eat it up none the less. These sexy, school master chic, peep-toe tassel loafers from BCBG, available at Macy’s, are the shoes we’d have worn while we made out with our too-good-to-be-true boyfriend Dan, as we sat in the quad with our daughter-of-a-designer best friend, while texting our teenage-pimp step brother using our iPhone. T - 7 days!! Get ready for the new Monday night; Gossip Girl starts next Monday!!! OMFG!

Nine West says “Hell no, we won’t go” to the color blocking look of late. This pretty, snakeskin-embossed, t-strap sandal is full of all the colors you need for fall and complete with that very trendy color blocking scheme that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere fast. Yellow and orange were both big players for summer and wouldn’t you know that they work great in the fall as well. These sandals are paired down with a heavy brown t-strap that ties the entire look together with leaf peeping wishes. Pick up these sandals now during yet another sale at Macy’s, where they’re just $59.29. Fall is on!

Today, apparently, is the day when we must swallow our tongues and give props to all those celebrity shoe “designers”. Um, well played Jessica Simpson! Seriously! We over here at The Shoe Dish are very impressed with your affordable version of the very popular cut-out sandal by way of the strappy gladiator t-strap. The great thing about this very trendy look is that there are so many places you go with it. It’s great with just about anything, from funking up those dressy outfits with a little edginess, picking up your ordinary jeans and tank numbers with some flavor, and even pairing down a very slick office outfit. Don’t be surprised when you see people wearing these all the way into the winter. The daring trendsetter won’t be afraid to tag team with a pair of socks or tights.

I was talking to my BFF last week when she told me that her baby bro was leaving for his study abroad program the next day. My first reaction was, say what? Since when do study abroad programs begin in the middle of the summer. Hold up! See, now that’s what happens when you’re living a life completely devoted to selfish pleasures. It’s August already? That’s right folks. It’s back to school time. You’d think I’d know this since everything is unfolding all at once, but of course as is normal for el shoedish, we’re not too planny-mc-planner. In fact, it was less than a week ago that we actually got ahold of a return flight itinerary and we hardly have ourselves to thank for that. Anyhoot, enough with all that non-sense, these shoes are what you’re here for and here’s shoedish’s list for the heavy McFly in back to school shoewear. Enjoy my pets!

We’ve been saying it for months and now it looks like the powers that be have finally jumped on board. T-straps are back!! Yay! As you know, this shoe from Max Studio combines two of shoedish’s favorite styles. Now you can wear them like the proud and all-knowing fashionista you are.
It’s all about the Mock son! Get your little fingers on these Minnetonka wonders before they realize they’re the next Ugg and raise the roof on their prices. Moccasins have been making a comeback for few seasons now and this fall is their time to shine.

You may not be a spectator when it comes to sports, after school activities, and yearbook, but that doesn’t mean you can’t wear them. All those extra curriculars making your head spin? Well, stick your feet in these pretty shoe bootie oxfords from rsvp and you’ll make the shoe honor role in our book.

Gossip Girl is bringing back the uniform chic and we think that these sexy brogues from Alexander McQueen are exactly what the school master had in mind. OMFG!

No shoedrobe is complete this fall without a little boot scoot lovin’. Whether you be into the two step, Harley’s Angels, Foxtrot, or The Devil’s Rejects, there’s a trendy boot style made just for you. Hit up the motorcycle chic or do a little rugged west coast swing with these boots from the father of the boot, Frye.
Don’t think that just because it’s fall, the gladiator is done. The gladiator has paved the way for hardcore straps and extreme cut-outs will be taking their party all the way to winter, so round up your staples now. These would-be-boots-if-they-didn’t-have-all-those-cut-outs from Marni are what’s new in cool for shoe.

Did you know that there are 8 days in the week? Well, that’s what our favorite celebutard, Aubrey O’Day thinks - further pushing that blonde stereotype - but we’ll interject here, not to defend the Danity Kane singer, but to wonder briefly about this phenomenon. Oh, the possibilities…
On the eighth day, God created shoes!
It’s like gold in our mouth…hmmm, not sure that metaphor works, but anyway. Not that shoes need any help in the fantasy department, but try to imagine the feast of love and international devotion. It makes our toes wiggle. Here’s a shoe from Versace that shoedish will being kneeling for. BTW: We’re sure that little “8 days a week” comment was a tongue slip, as she’s doing 8 shows a week. It could happen to anyone. Aww, look at shoedish being nice.
